HORRIBLE COMPANY!!! My move was contracted out to another company, which I specifically asked not to have doneThey told me my things would come within two weeks...it took over a monthWhen I called to ask where my things were, they said I signed a form indicating that I didn't want anything to arrive until after a specific dateMy carbon copy did not indicate this, thus they filled this section in after the factThey repeatedly lied to me on the phoneOne of the times I called, I asked where my things were and they said that they didn't knowI paid to have movers and they only sent one person to lift heavy furnitureThey tried charging more than what we original agreed upon There site will have positive reviewsDon't be fooledThey have you complete a review after the moving truck is loaded, not after your things are delivered to your new place Overall, I suggest using Uhaul and driving your things from one place to another yourselfYou can even hire additional people on either end to help you load and unload the truck

Beware! Economy Van Lines and whatever fly by night company they outsource moves to are unprofessionalThey promise a pick up date and don't showNo call from them, no return callsWhen we get them on the phone, they deny any involvement other than quoting and selling the jobAll they say is: "You will have to call dispatch" Dispatch never answers, never returns callsThey finally showed up and didn't have enough room left on the truck because the prior job took up most of the roomIt has been a week and we can't get them to pick up the final dining room hutch

Economy van Lines did a wonderful job on my moveI couldnt ask for moreThey were courteous and took great care of my furnitureDelivery was quick and everything arrived in one pieceJust wanted to say thanks for a job well done

Back in Aug of I signed up with this company & have had nothing but headaches from the start! I signed the contract paid the first part of the contract & stated the day when I wanted pick-up Got a phone call from them saying they needed a two day window so gave them the the two dates, stating again the date I preferred; the day before the day didn't want, I receive a call saying the movers were going to be there (a full day earlier & I wasn't really ready for them) to pick up my items I paid my second amount at the time of piand was told it was going to be another $more than what I signed the contract for I was also told I would be notified - hours before delivery...NOT....wasn't notified at all!! I had an item that my father had made & since has passed away; & if I had been notified someone would have been there for the delivery; but seeing I didn't know they were going to deliver nobody was there & they put stuff into a storage unit I was told I had to pay the final amount on the contract plus the storage fee & sign a paper which originally stated this wouldn't have been possible, before the key was over night-ted to me I paid them in full and no key; after many calls finally found out what storage unit they put my stuff in & they couldn't over night the key because it was stuck under the storage unit door which the owners didn't even know about I feel they breached the contract & I'm still at this time trying to settle a claim with them for the final amount I paid them plus the storage fee

There site will have positive reviews. Don't be fooled. They have you complete a review after the moving truck is loaded, not after your things are delivered to your new place.

Overall, I suggest using Uhaul and driving your things from one place to another yourself. You can even hire additional people on either end to help you load and unload the truck.

Missing Queen Mattress

I do not recommend Economy Van Lines (EVL). Their level of service has been inconsistent throughout the entire experience; we are still waiting on repayment of a balance from one of their contracting partners, Big Boy Moving & Storage (now 2 months past due), and a reimbursement check for a missing Queen Mattress (now 1 month past due).

Storage & Shipment
What was said:
The first month of storage is free and a fee would be charged for each month after until a destination address was provided.

What happened:
We followed instructions and paid the storage fee after the free month only to be told that our items were shipped to our state before a destination address was provided, forcing us to pay $250 for a specific type of storage unit that could accommodate a 70-foot semi-truck.

Delivery Arrival Time
What was said:
24-48 hours would be provided before delivery date.

What happened:
Less than 24 hours was provided before delivery date. After explaining that we were out of town, the driver still arrived and we were forced to leave our friend's wedding early to meet him.

Delivery
What was said:
Items would be delivered and a balance would be paid upon delivery.

What happened:
Our balance was paid in full but we were charged by the Big Boy since their records were up to date. Amex is currently in dispute with them.

Our Queen Mattress was missing from our delivery. We slept on the floor for three weeks as we waited for a return phone call and update.

Reimbursement
What was said:
A reimbursement check would be sent to us for our missing mattress.

What happened:
We have not received a reimbursement check after a month of settling.

Working this company has been a hassle and headache. I doubt anyone has time to chase after a company to do its job well.

Best of luck fellow movers - at least you won't have to deal with this Economy Van Lines.
