The paper work stated that it was the #spark plug which is in the front in the middleIt is the #spark plug which is the on the rear of the motor in the middleThe technician wrote it down wrongAs stated before the customer was called immediately when we were aware of the problem and they did not have a voicemail that was setupIt was also explained to them by the service advisor and the service manager which spark plug it was
The cutomer also stated that the plugs had been replaced in February of this yearRegardless of which spark plug it is we did not create this problemThe problem most likely occured by the spark plug not being correctly installed on previous repairs by another repair faciltyWe reccomend the customer return to that facility and discuss the repairs with them

Complaint: ***

Mr*** came into Ed bozarth Chevrolet on 4/25/He had been driving his vehicle from Denver when the engine failed on himHe approved initial teardown of the engine for complete diagnosisWe found that the coolant had leaked into the motor and damaged the rod bearings and the motor would
need replacedMr*** had an extended warranty at the time that covered a portion of the cost on replacement of the motorAt that time we replaced the motor. The vehicle was in a poor and unsafe conditionThe doors would not shut and multiple components had been removed from the vehicle. At the time the motor had been replaced the customer was advised that the engine timing will not set due to worn distributor gear and and has coolant leaking at upper radiator hose which should be replaced and coolant heat valve is blocked ( I believe this was because the heater core was leaking)The customer declined repairs all additional workThe work order that the customer recieved from us states all of that informationEd Bozarth Chevrolet was contacted last year about this vehicle by *** Motors as well as ** about doing a warranty repair on the motor and stated that it appears to have a coolant leak that has caused the engine failure not the engine itself. We faxed copies of the work oreder to *** Motors and ** for their reviewThe is the last we have heard of this until nowWe feel that we do not owe Mr*** a new engine, he was advised of the neede repairs on his coolant system at the time of engine replacement and declined to have the repairs doneWe have attached a copy of the invoice which is the same one that Mr*** and the aboved metioned receivedThank you

Vehicle was dropped off at night as the customer stated. Technician started car to pull into shop to perfrom recall. At that time the technician heard the noise from the engine at start up. He pulled the vehicle in the shop and the other...

technicians in the shop heard the noise as well. Technician opened the hood and heard the noise from the back of the engine. Shut off the vehicle and found that the #4 spark plug had come out and was laying on the exhaust manifold. He attempted to put it back in as a courtesy to the customer and found that the threads were stripped on the head where the plug goes and the threads on the plug also appeared stripped. He then notified the service advisor about what he found. She then attempted to call the customer multiple times, however the customers voicemail was not set up. The customer then called several days later and was informed of the situation. She stated that the spark plugs and wires had been replaced recently and not to do any repairs (that is why the spark plug and wire were on the seat of the vehicle when the customer came in to pick up their vehicle so that it was not just laying loose on the engine compartment).  The technician also stated that the plug looked new.  The service manager then spoke to the customer and the customer stated the plugs and wires wre replaced in February of this year. Customer was told by the service manager that whenever the plugs were replaced (by a seperate repair facility) that more than likely the plug was not installed correctly and worked its way loose over time. That is easy to tell since the first few threads on the plug looked damaged. She was then advised to take the vehicle back to who did the repairs and seek repairs from them. We perform visual inspections of vehicles that come in (safety items, oil leaks, belts hoses). We do not take anything apart and we do not remove spark plugs. We have no reason to ( the spark plug mentioned is also in a very difficult spot to get to on the back of the engine). We feel we are not responsible for any repairs or damages that occured to this vehicle. We did not remove anything or create this problem whatsoever.

My issue was not resolved with Ed Bozarth Chevrolet and vehicle is currently in need of repair. I went into Ed Bozarth within the 1st couple months to do a follow up on my engine since having the replaced engine in and to have my driver door hinge replaced (was of a couple mm but still able to shut) when I got my vehicle back the hinge was replaced but when I got my vehicle back had a new problem and was told my a/c control was bad. Wasnt when I brought it in. I have kept all the maintenance up on my vehicle and have all my records in regards to service. Repairs I was told of were my Pitman and idler arm, transfer case rear output shaft seal, front pinion shaft seal, and that the front axel seal was leaking and that I would be recommended to get these items replaced soon. I was never told about my gear timing or upper hose needing to be replaced else would have done so. The service representative was unclear and left me under the impression my engine was good and next time in replace the seals and items mentioned. My 1st time having my escalade at Ed Bozarth I did an alignment and I recieved a call about 20mins after leaving their was told a mechanic forgot his wrench in my engine somewhere. I have the exact date and the time within min and would pull phone records and call to proove this aswell. The service at Ed Bozarth has been very poor and incompetent. Would like to pursue this manner and have resolution.[redacted]

As we stated before in regards to the previous complaint, all work was declined. The repair orders we previously sent reflect the customer declining both the distributor gear and upper radiator hoses. The customer returned shortly after and did have the gear replaced but not the radiator hose. We feel we don't owe the customer anything else due to his declining work that we recommended he needed. Thank you, [redacted]
Please refer to the previous response that has repair orders attached.
