Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:When I got to Grants NM my truck wasn't shifting properly so I stopped at Corley Ford and they first said I needed new transmission. After further inspection they showed me a crack in the block and said that I needed a new engineI said I wanted new parts and they quoted me approximately $6,for the jobWhich I have found is the going rate for that particular engine and transmission. They did not give me a written estimate. They also told me that after the parts arrived the work would be done in three days. I then called my wife to tell her the amount and she said her mom said OK to $ As I'm a diabetic I was running short of medicine so did do that. You told me the truck would be done Sept I got on the bus in Indio, CA in the morning of Sept 9 and arrived in Grants that evening and got a room for the nightThe truck was still not ready until Sept 13. The air conditioner was no longer working though it had been when I took the truck in. I started home and about miles down the road I heard funny noises and found the skid plate was hanging with all four bolts half way out. I borrowed tools and tightened them up. I did NOT GO BACK and they did no more to truckWhen I got home and started looking at the engine I found the battery was not bolted down the holes were stripped. The fan cowl was not bolted downThen took truck to Chevy garage where they found one motor mount bolt missingThere were two old air bleed seals on left cyc head and both air bleed seals on right cyc head as coolant was running outWater pump was leakingHad to refill coolant also#spark plug wire was bad and they replaced.

Revdex.com of New MexicoRe: [redacted]The 1999 Ford Ranger which was brought to Ed Corley Ford for repair was incorrectly advised from [redacted].  Our certified technicians received the vehicle after it had been in two shops in Grants and I believe [redacted] said he had spent over 2,000 dollars and...

did not get the vehicle repaired.  I was not the adviser or service manager at the time that the vehicle was brought in.  I do however understand what repairs had been done and what we completed. This vehicle has the appearance as if it came out of the wrecking yard.  It needs a complete rebuilding through the vehicle.  Our technician had already put in over 15 hours of work time trying to figure out how to piece this vehicle together.  The recommendations given were ignored by [redacted] and being a computer technician and a certified vehicle technician are very different indeed. It would have required entirely more than the 15 hours spent on the vehicle but 4 hours and the parts that were put on the vehicle.  He was refunded money that placed as a deposit.  The parts were on the vehicle when he sent a tow truck to pick it up.  The wiring and harness and transceiver were installed.  His vehicle needs extreme overhaul in every area possible.  He was advised of that.Kaul C[redacted]Service Manger

Mr. [redacted],
In response to your letter concerning the work that was on your truck. Our dealership usually deals in original parts for the vehicles we work on , plus to give the consumer a choice.
When we received the letter with your information for aftermarket parts from your search, at this...

point we are comparing apples to oranges and the reason I say this is, we gave you a choice of General Motor factory of a salvage yard parts. After reviewing you choices you authorized to purchase the new General Motor Parts.
The Labor charged from the work that was done from All Data, the industry guideline for work performance by time.
As far as the timeline we have this:  On August 09, 2014 you drove into our dealership for a diagnosis on your 2001 Chev Silverado because you stated that the vehicle was not shifting properly.  The return diagnosis was that your vehicle was in need of a transmission.  After you reviewed the choices you opted for the General Motor new transmission at 10:28am on August 11,2014.  At that time you requested a tune up to be done.  Upon inspection we found head gasket issues and an engine was also recommended .  You checked with your wife  about maybe a possibility of trading in the unit or getting it repaired.  Again your decision was to have your vehicle fixed with both a new transmission and engine..  Parts were ordered and our records indicated that the parts were approximately  5 days out.
In the meantime the technician that diagnosis your vehicle was working on w engines that were in our shop before your vehicle arrived.  Due process is to work on the vehicles in the order they arrived, so when your parts were not here the  he went back to work on the other vehicles he had in his stall which we had the parts for.
We started working on your truck on September 2, 2014 and the work was completed on September12, 2014.  You were told the truck was going to be completed on the 10th  but your arrival was on 9th. Small issues came up preventing us from completing  the repairs on time.  We were finishing up on your truck and the brackets for your cattle guard were rusted through and we told you we could not remount it properly because of the rust and you asked us to put it in the bed of the truck.  You also mentioned a/c and cruise control issues at this time and being late  in the evening we would look at it the next morning of Saturday the 13th.  That night we assisted you with hotel accommodations on Friday September 12,2014.
After your departure you did return for minor issues, loose bolts, secure battery.  We also made new brackets for your cattle guard and remounted it at not expense to you.
It is our opinion that you did authorize and sign for both a new engine and transmission which both items carry a national warranty should anything go wrong with either item.

This is in reference to Mr. [redacted]:
