When I opened your letter this morning, I decided to give man the $that he wants as he took the gentlemanly way of handling this matterWhen he first demanded I meet him at a gas station and fill up his gas tank I thought he was being unreasonableBut then I read his letter to you and was
shocked as not all statements were trueI then decided to look at the internet and found that he is posting bad reviews slandering us saying that we sabotaged his boat and he could have died, and warning others we could kill them alsoI have attached some of the posts. In reference to this claim, many parts of his tale are fabricatedYes, the tube didn't go into the cup correctly, and yes it was our faultWe guarantee our work and tell all customers to bring the boat back immediately, don't even need to call or wait for an appointmentWhen *** first called, he states that he was given the run aroundDue to a funeral there was only one person on staffWe had been looking for a year to find a mechanic and just hired one the month before, who had answered *** call originallyOur employee became intimidated and flustered by *** yelling and verbal abuseUpon my return, I called him and he said he was in the DeltaI didn't want him to travel all the way back to Fresno for us to fix, so I looked on the internet for a marine facility in Rio Vista and starting calling the facilities that were listed, and the first two I called said they didn't do emergency workI finally found one to look at the boat, now knowing he was no longer a full time marine shopI then called the Mercury representative who was able to diagnose and the repairs were done to get the customer on his way. We sincerely apologized to the customer, (many, many times) for any and all inconvenienceHe was yelling and abusive to our employee the first time he called, (as he stated in his letter, "what the hell is going on"), but we stayed cordial in every manner, apologizing to him over and overThe cost to repair his boat at the Delta by the repair facility and the Mercury representative was at no cost to ***He told me that he got towed in by another boater, but never mentioned that he paid $for the towing and had receiptsIf he had originally told me this, I would gladly have refunded him. The Mercury representative in question has stated that the quotes the customer has given about him are totally untrue, and attached is an email from him stating so** of Ed's Marine retired in and works on a part-time basis only, and is not involved in the daily operation of the business. Also, he never stated that he took the boat to different marine mechanics here in Fresno, another unbelievable statement that was never mentioned to me, and I would be interested in seeing those repair ordersHe also accused us of blowing up the motor of the Fresno Bee writer, *** ***, which is totally per *** and I have attached an email from him stating soSHe is saying he could have died and warning people to stay away from us if they value their livesHe also stated bad reviews on Yelp, but there is only one bad review and it is from ***We do not have any ex-employees, so that statement about ex-employees making bad comments about us are alsoHe did not pay extra for his services from us, we have schedule pricing for service and we charge msrp for parts. In summary is he saying he is willing delete all slanderous posts on the internet if we pay? Should the DA or an attorney be involved to resolve the slander and statements?
