After being informed of having a whole house generator installed I do not use enough propane to qualify for two tanks however that is the requirement for the generator so they told me that I would have to purchase the tanks from them and have them installed even though I had one tank existing which was rented from them for many many years you would think they would change their policies as times have changed but that is not the case with them I have switched services and can guarantee you I will never go back to eddinger please do yourself a favor and don't enter into the headache of a contract with them or their customer service deficiencies and substandard policies

Basically Eddinger's gives us good service in that they deliver our propane within a reasonable time when they are called.
Delivery person is always pleasant and efficient when providing the service. We have dealt with Eddinger's for the past fifteen years if not more.

If there was a way to give negative stars I would definitely do so. If you can choose not to do business with this company please spare yourself the time, money, and the heartache. This company doesn't care about military veterans, single parents, and they definitely don't care if you are without gas in sub zero temperatures. One thing they do care about is money. This company does not put anything in writing and they do not have any contracts, which is red flag number one because they seem to make up the rules as they go along. They deliver gas to ypur home at any random time when they feel like it without any courtesy call or notification. Seems like they only do it when their funds are low. Then they place an invoice on your door. The invoices range between around $200 to over $500. There are no terms written on the invoices but their expectation is that you pay in full in 30 days. When you ask them not to randomly deliver to ypur house without notice they do stop, however they do not give courtesy calls or notice when your tank is running low. Their invoicing system is also not accurate because sometimes your invoice will say one thing and then online your amount owed will be different (often it will be more). The reps are eddinger all have attitude problems. They are all rude, they talk over you and interrupt you and they are liars. One rep will say one thing and then the next person you talk to will say something totally different. Due to the fact that they do not keep accurate records you are often told different information. They can randomly make you a pay up front customer without any cause or notice and they often do so in the coldest no the so as to take advantage of its customers. My propane ran all the way to 0 with no notice and I called to have a refill and they demanded an upfront payment of $1k during the holidays to have my heat turned back on. The temperature outside has ranged from 0 degrees to 22 degrees. They did not care! One rep told me a $200 payment would suffice for a delivery the next day and when I paid them their money they never delivered and when I called they told me that wasn't enough money and demanded more. PLEASE DO NOT use this company! Find a better, more organized company with better business practices. Find a company that actually cares about its customers becayse these people really could care less at all.

Here is an update on my issues with Eddinger propane, I just had a nationwide company come out and your tanks that I have been complaining because the gauges do not work. You refused to replace them, the tanks themselves are seven years past due for replacement. You installed these tanks illegally, right by a vent window. You will be given a call to come pick up your tanks after I use up the high price product you sold me because you have given me every reason to not trust you on a possible reimbursement. I should of reported you to the state, but I have decide to cut my ties with you instead of putting more money into the pocket of a local corrupt millionaire. I have decided to go with a company that is more reputable and creditable that is nationwide.

Review: Received a bill from Eddinger Propane in July, 2013; which was the only statement I received from 12/31/11 which at the time my balance was only 78.27. If I would have known this was the amount I would have paid it off. I have received Financial Charges, late charges, since this 12/11 date, with no bills. The late charges range from $31.99 to $14.62 ---- not sure why the big difference in charges. I needed to get more propane and received propane, on 3/8/13 which was in the amount of $582.50 - did not recieve a bill until July of 2013 - now they are stating I owe $787.01. This is a total of $126.24 of late charges. I paid $200.00 in July of 2013and another $200.00 in August of 2013. have not received a bill until 5/8/14 which was not a bill but a slip of paper in my mailbox to call them to discuss my bill. I did call the business and discussed that I have not be getting my bills in the mail (have not moved). She stated that they mail out bills every 2 months and she did not have any that has been returned to me. But, since my last conversation May 2014, now I recieve a bill with a statment in it that I owe $458.48.Desired Settlement: Since my statement that I received from Eddinger's was on 12/31/11 was only $78.27 and I recieved propane on 3/8/12 in the amount of $582.50 and already paid $400.00 and not receiving any bills.... I don't believe I should have to pay any late fees......my final payment should be $260.77

May 25, 2014I am writing this letter in response to your letter from May 20, 2014. ID [redacted].First of all I would like to ask them if they ever asked us to take off the late fees.Second, they called completely out of gas, so if they see they have heat and no bill after a couple of weeks even after a month, why wouldn't you call and inquire about not receiving one. That isn't the first time, each time they got gas they were out, called in and got same day deliveries, bills left on front door each time.Our policy is to leave the original slip that comes out of the truck from the computer on the front door of the house, this keeps prices down. We are not allowed to leave in mailboxes per postal service. A statement will not generate till after two months of delivery, if we did do monthly statements they would owe more than they are complaining about. We have over ten thousand customers there is no way we can do monthly.Each month that a statement generates so do service charges. They are mailed, we have return service requested on our envelopes so if mail is returned we look into address changes none came from them.They want to deduct all service charges from day one, we have waited a longtime for payment. I don't know who they would get anything from and not pay for as long as rt takes them, certainly not a credit card company or a Bank.I also don't understand how they didn't get any statements, I can see one or two but none?They got gas from us March, 2013 and still haven't paid that in full.I will take off $50.00 but that is it. As I said, we have waited a long time for payment. Not to mention they have been to collections, so we have lost half of what they paid for gas. I had to pay for two girls to generate statements, also, paper, envelopes and stamps.So it's our word saying we did mail out statements and their word saying they never received them!Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:The letter that has been attached did not deal with the billing issues; they brought up activities and items that were not in question.Yes, I did ask for the late fees to be taken off, if she would have communicated with her personnel this would have been answered for her. If this company would have worked with me on this issue we would not be in this spot right now. I was told no they were financial charges and would not be taken off even when I discussed the situation with her on the phone.Secondly, I never questioned the service of the propane gas that was delivered to my house, or that a bill was left at my door. There were only 2 bills that were mailed to my address. That is what is being questioned. The statement why wouldn't I inquire about not receiving a bill; are they serious. Yes, that is on my calendar to call and get my bills from companies that should be doing this to render their payment..... not me.I am very happy that they have 10,000 customers but they also bring in the fact about banks and credit cards would not allow this to happen to get paid. Well, they have hundreds of thousands and millions of customers and I get a monthly bill from them and they do get paid!They did not answer the question of why the late charges range from $3.82 to $31.99.... other companies have a flat rate of late payment fees.I Never said I did not get any bills, only the one in July of 2013 and then the slip in my mailbox in May 2014 and then after I talked to an Eddinger's employee then I received one in the mail. It does not matter if it was one day of service or not, the bills needed to be mailed and they were not..... the ball was dropped on their end and now they are trying to get a past customer to pay for their mistakes.She brought up collections, funny I just had a credit report completed for a re-mortgage and also had one sent to me on May 16, 2014 and no one brought up this collection matter and my credit report goes back to 2005 before I started using this company for propane gas.Also bringing up paying two girls to generate statements; I believe that is in their job responsibilities and that is what they get paid to do and also about envelopes, stamps and paper.... all business tax right-offs. That is part of being a company.We no longer use this company and will not in the future we have found a competent gas company that is cheaper in price and sends us monthly bills, communicates with us very professionally and willingly.As I stated before, my husband and I will be paying in the amount of $260.77. We can write a check and send it and then would like a receipt that it is paid in full and the account is closed.
