Be sure you have all promises by Eddy Homes written in your sales agreement/contract. Ensure all of your expectations and requests are completed PRIOR to closing. Otherwise you will wait and wait, once they have you closed - you are no longer a priority to them.

Eddy Homes builds a solid, beautiful home, but their attention to detail and oversight of their sub-contractors is at best, lousy. The "automated" email Customer Service tool you are to use to communicate any issues with your new home, is poorly handled and leaves a lot to chance.

Review: Eddy Homes did not complete the grading of our lawn and did not install the starter/builder lawn for a large portion of our property as they are obligated to do. We moved in July 2013. At that time, about 30% of our property had been graded and starter seeded. Eddy Homes suggested that we wait until spring to complete the rest of the property grading and seeding. I confirmed the promise to complete the grading/seeding via email. When we approached Eddy Homes in March 2014 about the grading/seeding, they said that they would complete the property. Additionally, the portion that was graded and seeded was not properly graded. Each time it rains we have a stream of water that runs through the yard. Eddy Homes did offer to re-seed the area of the lawn that has washed away. They did admit that this would not correct the problem. Other landscapers also confirmed that this was not the solution but drainage should be added. After asking again and again about the grading/seeding we were told that they were reviewing our contract. To date, there has been no progress on the lawn.On another subject, we discovered that our granite was not installed to the specification of the range top. We told Eddy Homes of the issue and provided documentation from the appliance manufacturer and distributor. We were asked to have another person from the appliance distributor come to our house and review the granite installation versus the installation specification. We complied and the distributor confirmed that the granite was not installed per specification. When we inquired about the status of the granite install, we were told that they were waiting for paperwork from the granite company. Again, there has been no progress on the granite.Desired Settlement: We would like to have the section of the lawn that was originally graded and seeded repaired, the remainder of the lawn graded and seeded, and have the granite replaced and installed to the range top manufacturer specification.

Review: In 2012 my husband and I entered in to contract with Eddy Homes to build a house for us. After two years of a nightmare dealing with the lies and delays from Eddy Homes we had no other choice than to take the option to move into our unfinished home. We were only able to move in if we paid them in full. The inside and outside of our home was unfinished. On the day of our closing there was a punch list of outstanding unfinished items that was created by our lawyers. The punch list was signed and accepted by Eddy Homes. The interior punch list items were to be completed by Eddy Homes within 30 days of closing and the same for exterior items that we did not have to make selections. The exterior items that we had to make selections on were to be complete within 30 days of our selections. My husband and I finalized all exterior selections other than the concrete by the first week of May. And the punch list is not complete nor did they make any effort to complete the items. We don't know what to do we are living in a brand new home but the exterior is surrounded be dirt. My three children have no where to play and it is summer. There is exposed metal out back that my nephew already got cut on. We have several emails to [redacted] (president of operations at Eddy Homes) asking him to please finish our home and all he does is try to give me the run around and blame the delays on us. This has been a horrible experience and we just want it to end.Desired Settlement: All we are asking is that Eddy Homes honors their contract and completes our home.

On June 17, 2014, Eddy Homes, Inc. received the above-referenced complaint from a customer for whom we constructed a new home. We appreciate the opportunity to respond. At the request of the homeowner's closing and now move in occurred before the homeowners had finalized their exterior selections. The Interior of the home was complete at that time, as was the exterior, other than those items dependent on the homeowners remaining outstanding selections. Importantly, the homeowners had not yet finalized their exterior concrete plans. It also should be noted that when the contract was initially signed the homeowners elected to remove all landscaping work from Eddy Homes’ scope of work. This is well-documented
