I recently read the ridiculous reply from Mr W***The way we can settle this and proving that I have worked on several cracks and welding pointEvery welding point I do with gold will have a slight bumpI file it down but not to perfection (on purpose), that so if any complaints about "Same point broke again" I would show the customer by magnifying glass where the bump/welding point isWell that said, if someone Mr W [redacted] did file it or hired someone to completely hide those bumps, thats not an issue at allEvery Jeweler knows that the solder used for repair and welding has significant lower melting point than Gold itself - that way when we're trying to repair an item, the solder will melt first quickly without cause the existing gold to melt or deformSo What we can do, is to take the ring to whichever reputable jeweler of his choice, and get a written report from that said Jeweler stating that only point repair has been done on the ring - if thats so, I will do FULL REFUND

Case ld # ***To whom it may concern; The customer walked into store with 14K ring that has baguette diamonds with two of them where missing and the ring was broken from points right under the diamond settings and band was cracked across as well so all together points were broken
As he indicated on his complaint there were missing baguettesThe ring has accumulated a lot dirt on it and the spots for lost diamond was filled with built up gunk {possibly from lotion?). The way we gave the customer an estimate of $plus tax was including fixing points for ${$foreach point) and $for setting diamond stones if he brings his baguettesThe reason he decided for us to set His own stones that he was supposed to bring in, is because he was not satisfied by the pricing we estimated for setting our baguettes which is around $each (He replied:" I'll bring my own damn diamonds.") We did weigh his ring as he requested and it was 13.8gr as isHowever part of our service after fixing item is buff scratch out the item which causes some weight loss(small fraction of it) and cleaning with high pressure steam is also would rid of all dirt and other elements but goldBased on those facts we do not give any warranty in terms of weight, with that being said the amount of loss is usually less than gr depending on item. When the customer showed up for picking up his ring, he did not bring diamonds with him instead he accused us for not putting diamond on his ringWe did remind him about the conversation we had and the price we quoted himRealistically fixing points, stones and setting those stones for $is ridiculousThe cost of diamonds by itself is more than $As a matter of fact he mentions about, but he doesn't claim anything because he knows that the cost of diamond and setting them is way more than what we have quoted him. He pointed out that he took his ring to another jewelry store to do repair, which as he stated in his complaint to the local attorney General, we did offer him to put the gold difference on his ring in order to keep him as a satisfied customerDespite all my effort to diffuse and fix the situation did not want me to do anythingWe are not sure what did he accomplish by going to another jewelerAnd for the record, I usually do charge for 14K repairs more than I charged the customer, especially his cracked band in which I have to weld it all aroundOur prices are known to be 1/of market prices and that's why this business have existed for over a decade. In order to resolve this matter we already offered to add O.5g of gold on his ringThank you,Idris Y***

I recently read the ridiculous reply from Mr W[redacted]. The way we can settle this and proving that I have worked on several cracks and welding point. Every welding point I do with gold will have a slight bump. I file it down but not to perfection (on purpose), that so if any complaints about "Same point broke again" I would show the customer by magnifying glass where the bump/welding point is. Well that said, if someone Mr W[redacted] did file it or hired someone to completely hide those bumps, thats not an issue at all. Every Jeweler knows that the solder used for repair and welding has significant lower melting point than Gold itself - that way when we're trying to repair an item, the solder will melt first quickly without cause the existing gold to melt or deform. So What we can do, is to take the ring to whichever reputable jeweler of his choice, and get a written report from that said Jeweler stating that only 1 point repair has been done on the ring - if thats so, I will do FULL REFUND.

Revdex.com:
