It is also notable that 2015 was the driest summer this region has seen for quite some time.  I am not a mold expert, but I have been told mold simply does not grow that fast. Review: I have two complaints with the product and service I received from the contractor I hired to replace my roof. Edge Home Roofing LLC was commissioned to tear off an existing roof and replace it with a new one. Shortly after the "crew" began to work, I requested a current copy of the companies Idaho contractors license and proof of liability insurance. It was then revealed the crew working on my house were not employees or Edge Home Roofing and were not licensed and insured to work in the state of Idaho. When I brought this to the owner's attention ([redacted]), I was told Edge Home Roofing was going to hire the crew working on my house as employees, that day. The project started on 7/9/15 and this information about the crew did not transpire until 7/14/15. The crew, a subcontracted roofing company named 7 Star Roofing, out of Pasco Washington - license# [redacted], worked six days in violation of contractors laws and requirements to legally work in the state of Idaho. I paid [redacted] for work that he himself did not complete and subcontracted the work to a company I did not hire to do the work.

The second issue I have with the product and service provided by Edge Home Roofing, LLC is shortly after the work had been completed, I hired a separate HVAC specialist to come install an attic fan on my new roof. It was then discovered my attic was growing mold. I made contact with two roofing engineers about my situation and learned the attic did not have sufficient air circulation and the roof was to blame. I called [redacted] and notified him of my problem and [redacted] immediately denied any responsibility to the mold. [redacted] told me mold would not grow that fast and it must have been caused by another source. I asked [redacted] to come to my property and help my try to find the source if the roof was not the culprit.

At this point [redacted] spent the next two months making appointments to come to the house and inspect the mold, but never showed up or called to inform me he was not going to make it. Finally, after the fifth no-call/no-show, I informed [redacted] I did not want him to come to my house and that I wanted this problem to go through his insurance. [redacted] then called ServPro to come to my house and inspect the mold. I received a call from a man named [redacted] and we made an appointment. The appointment came and gone and [redacted] never showed up. I called [redacted] to see what happened and learned that after we made the appointment, [redacted] called [redacted] to inform him of the plan and [redacted] proceeded to instruct [redacted] to invoice me (despite the fact [redacted] had called [redacted] for the service call), the customer for the visit, and to make sure I know that [redacted] is not responsible for the mold in the attic and that I was going to have to cover all expenses. From there [redacted] refused to do the work because of ethical, moral, and integrity reasons. [redacted] informed [redacted] he would contact me, the customer, and let me know [redacted] would not make the appointment and why. That was never done.

Today I personally called [redacted]'s insurance company and submitted a claim. I am to the point where regardless of the cause of the mold, I am going to utilize all my resources and make sure I receive a full refund for work I paid for (that was not completed by the company I hired) AND that the mold issues is addressed and resolved with no cost to me. I am going to give [redacted] the opportunity to settle this dispute outside of court, nice and clean. If [redacted] does not comply my request of a full refund and paying to have the mold removed and repaired,, I will take him to court and expose the documents I have that prove he knowingly had his company operating illegally in the state of Idaho and that prior to working on my roof, he personally was in my attic and did not see any mold or reasons to be concerned with the potential of mold while working on my project.

Because of the health risks associated with mold, I will spare no expense to ensure the safety of my family or the integrity of my home.Desired Settlement: I am wanting a full refund of $20,277.00 for what I paid to Edge Home Roofing, LLC and I want the mold problem addressed and repaired through Edge Home Roofing, LLC's insurance. Because of the health risks associated with mold, I will spare no expense to ensure the safety of my family or the integrity of my home.

I am requesting a full refund because I have been advised by my attorney that I will want to have the roof replaced soon because of poor quality of work and damaged caused to my house.
