Edgewood Properties Reviews (1)

Review: Edgewood Properties,

I received our final account statement and I have a lot of questions and concerns as to the way this is all being handled by Edgewood Properties.

We gave you notice in the beginning of April that we were moving out due to my daughter's medical condition. My daughter [redacted] who is 4 years old was hospitalized because of an asthma attack. She was in the hospital for about 3 days and was told to see a pulmonologist to take an allergy test. There it was discovered that she had an allergy to dust and pet dander. Our doctor [redacted] who is a pediatrician for [redacted] said you either have to get rid of your dog or live in a place with no carpet and hardwood floors because that would prevent your daughter from getting an allergic reactions or further medical problems. He said because of the carpets, the dog danger and dust builds up and causes her to have a reaction like she had.

I then immediately called the leasing office and notified the management. The management there has switched so much that I had no idea that [redacted] was gone and now was speaking to a woman named [redacted], who to me is the most unprofessional leasing manager I have ever come across in my entire life. When I advised her of my daughters medical condition, the first thing she said was "Well then get rid of your dog" in such a harsh and uncaring manner for either my daughters well being or the life of our bulldog. I told her the two options that we had and she chose to just ignore the fact that we are on a time crunch because of my daughters condition.

She then said I could pay $6,000 to get the floors redone to hardwood floors which would be an expense out of my pocket. The real person that would be benefiting is The [redacted] because now they can rent out that apartment for more money because of the upgrade when in fact it was out of my pocket.

We had no intentions on leaving until my daughter had this problem.Desired Settlement: ow, to the $16,470.25 bill you are trying to collect which I am going to forward to my attorney to make sure there are no violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act or any other New Jersey tenant laws that protect me as a consumer.

I was never advised that the $450 concession would be returned so that needs to come off.

Cleaning the entire apartment is false because we cleaned, vacuumed the place really good. I shouldn't have to pay for that when you are supposed to make sure the apartment is ready before you rent it out and you didn't even do that for me when I moved in.

When it comes to the $729 paint charge, that is outrageous. We painted it back to a prime color so I would like to see the receipt for paint for $729.

I already paid my water and sewer bill so the bill you claim of $124.57 is not owed. I am not responsible for any charges in the month of June since you were notified I was leaving.

My lease expired in August 2015 not December 2015
