satisfaction for both parties.     Kevin C[redacted] has arranged for a refund in the amount of $124.50 (half the amount of $249.00 for furnace cleaning). The credit was put through on the client's Visa as of the morning of the 31st of July.Sincerely,Kevin C[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. I have accepted the proposed solution even if I do not find it satisfactory. In y opinion, I was charged more than was warranted. Before I call this firm again, I will call [redacted] to see if there are better, and more economical, options than offered by Edmonton Indoor Clean Air.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  We were misled by the salesman (Dino) to believe that we were getting full cleaning/servicing of 2 furnaces in addition to duct cleaning.  As I have previously stated, Dino was certainly aware this was our understanding because I kept trying to get him to lower the price since one of the furnaces is a [redacted] mobile-home type and I told him that I had been previously advised by the local [redacted] dealer that no routine maintenance was required for that type of furnace.  Dino's hype about the CO2 threat posed by not regularly cleaning furnaces was probably the main reason we suckered in.  Then, to be contacted later and be told we could have a service we clearly understood had already been performed . . . [redacted]; other unsuspecting customers need to be protected.  I should have known when Dino was able to schedule the service immediately.  I should also have inspected the written contract more closely, but I would say the written contract was modified by the oral (mis)representations.  My husband was not present for the original sales pitch, but he came home while Dino was still there and Dino gave him the whole pitch again (because he was trying to sell other products I had indicated we were not interested in - ie) humidifier, screens).  My husband's understanding was consistent with mine.  Dino definitely led us to believe both furnaces would be cleaned and serviced to ensure no CO2 danger and so they would not quit working unexpectedly on us during a cold snap. We thought we had done what was needed to have peace of mind and to ensure the safety of our family.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2016/04/12) */
I Kevin C[redacted], as per our conversation on April 11, 2016, had stated that I spoke to [redacted], the son of Mrs. [redacted]. [redacted] He stated that he wanted the bill reduced to...

$500.00 with no explanation, beside the cost being too high. I explained the cost and the job that was done and that was not good enough, and we had better do it or else then he hung up. [redacted] We have done previous work at the [redacted] house in July 2012 with no problems or issues.
Yours Truly

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 14, 2016/04/19) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
[redacted] Also there is no reason for him to have issued 2 separate invoices for this one service call. [redacted]

Re: Case # 1659027 (Client [redacted])
In response to your most recent request for information I am including a copy of the [redacted]'s work order and this written explanation.
The 2 separate charges you can see on the work order are for the duct and vent cleaning ($597.45) and the furnace and hot water tank cleaning and maintenance ($417.90). Two separate crews were sent to work on the heating system; a gas fitter to do the furnace and hot water tank, which are now covered for one year from date of work; and a crew of 2 to handle the duct and vent cleaning, which are now good for 3-5 years.
I hope this helps clear up any confusion created through the lack of full details offered in the past.
Sincerely,
Kevin C[redacted]

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 18, 2016/05/01) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
There was only 1 crew there for a little over 1 hour and the hotwater tank had a sticker on it that read it was just inspected by the gas company and they were also told this. [redacted]. [redacted]
