They are impossible to get ahold ofThey told us they would switch our car starter to a different vehicle when got a new carI have not been able to reach them so they can do soNow it is too late and I am losing the car starter and will have to buy a new one

I had paid $850 to get my car painted (PlastiDipped, it is a form of paint) at EDR Mobile. The first time he painted it he didn't paint it thorough enough and when it rained, it created huge water pockets anywhere there was a emblem on the car and under both driver and passenger door handles. Eric said he would repaint it for me again, but instead of painting it right away he made me wait almost two weeks to repaint it. I get the car back almost two weeks later and he messed up again, this time he painted the parts of the car he "replaced" a completely different color than the rest of the car, so now my car is two shades of white. I again went back to eric and he scheduled me to come back on the 27th, when I went there today he told me that I was supposed to be there yesterday to prep my car and that he was not painting my car, and if I wanted to wait three weeks he would paint it for me. I told Eric I was not doing that and expressed my frustration toward him about the car and he told me to paint it myself and gave me the material, three gallons of plastidip.I would like to note, I didnt take pictures of the first incident were there was water pockets, I didnt even think it would come to this and it would be a quick fix no big deal, but I do have pictures for it. I also don't remember the exact dates. There was never any paper work or contracts. I'm sure Mr. [redacted] would have the dates if he conducts his business properly. Because he sure as heck doesn't treat his customers properly.Product_Or_Service: Paint/PlastidipDesired SettlementI just want my car painted the same color it was supposed to be twice, but done right. Balloon White.Final Business Response Mr. [redacted] came to EDR Mobile sometime around the end of March/beginning of April. Mr. [redacted] indicated that he wanted what is commonly referred to as a complete "dip job" (in the form of a balloon white peal finish). I explained to Mr. [redacted] that a pearl finish would increas the cost of the job and result in total charges in the amount of $1,050.00. I then offered Mr. [redacted] a discount resulting in a total reduced cost of $975.00. Sometime thereafter Mr. [redacted] returned to EDR Mobile to pay a deposit for the aforementioned job and to further discuss the details surrounding the same. At this time Mr. [redacted] informed me that he had recently become unemployed and while he really wanted EDR Mobile to do the job that had been contemplated and discussed he did not have all the money and asked if I could "help him out". I tried to accommodate his situation by further reducing the total price by an additional $100.00 (new and reduced total cost of the job now equaled $875.00). On 4/11/14, Mr. [redacted] came to EDR Mobile and paid a deposit in the amount of $400.00, leaving a balance of $475.00 owing. Mr. [redacted]'s original appointment was scheduled for 4/18/14, for which Mr. [redacted] did arrive on time, however upon his arrival he informed me that he did not have enough money and could not pay the outstanding balance he owed. Once again I tried to be accommodating of Mr. [redacted]'s financial hardships and as such I elected to proceed with job. Mr. [redacted] and I went outside to inspect his car before I went any further with job in order to identify any imperfections or other defects that might tend to affect the job and to also bring the same to Mr. [redacted]'s attention. Upon inspection, I found damage to Mr. [redacted]'s front bumper, at which point I explained to Mr. [redacted] that it (the front bumper) would need extensive bodywork or replacement. Mr. [redacted] represented to me that he did not have the money to make this repair at which point he decided to go next door to the neighboring shop and offer them $50.00 to fix his bumper on the spot, without an appointment. The shop owner was insulted and told Mr. [redacted] that he was not interested in the job, so I suggested to Mr. [redacted] that he to order a replacement bumper. I even gave Mr. [redacted] the information as to where he could obtain a replacement bumper and how and exactly what to order. At this time I informed Mr. [redacted] that I would need the outstanding balance owed upon completion of the job. Mr. [redacted] expressly acknowledged and agreed to this term of service.Mr. [redacted] called EDR Mobile on 4/24/14 asking where he could have the replacement bumper installed. By this time it was crucial that I start the pre-dip process on his vehicle as this job was starting to complicate and conflict with other clients scheduled appointments. So I agreed to install the replacement bumper for Mr. [redacted] free of charge. I scheduled the earliest appointment possible, which was 4/29/14 at 9:00 am.Mr. [redacted] failed to arrive for his scheduled appointment on 4/29/14 until approximately 1:00 pm (4 hours late), he was told that the job would now take longer to complete as he had arrived so late and was now in conflict with other previously scheduled jobs, affecting not only for that day, but scheduled appointments throughout the following week. After explaining this to Mr. [redacted], he stated that he "absolutely understood and was sorry for showing up late" and claiming "it was the only time he could get a ride". We finished bumper installation and dip job and the vehicle was picked up by Mr. [redacted] on 5/2/14.Mr. [redacted] came back to EDR Mobile on 5/8/14 with a complaint that the dip (paint) was bubbling around emblems. We apologized and offered our earliest appointment possible to repair, at no additional cost to Mr. [redacted]. There is a 30 day warranty for all dip jobs and if there are any issues at all that are brought to my attention, they will be repaired free of charge, which we explained in advance to Mr. [redacted]. We scheduled the repairs to be done at 9:00 am on 5/20/14.On 5/20/14 Mr. [redacted] arrived at EDR Mobile at approximately 2:00 pm (5 hours late), with yet another excuse as to why he did not arrive at the scheduled time and claimed that he did not a phone to call us on so as to inform us of his delay. Mr. [redacted] then told us that he understood the repair would now take longer than originally expected, due to his tardiness, even expressing to us that he didn't care how long it would take to get the repair done. Before he left, Mr. [redacted] gave me headlight bulbs (that were not the correct size) and asked if we could install them in his vehicle to which I replied that we would try to install them, but could not guarantee it would be possible. We repaired all imperfections to the dip (paint job), but could not get his bulbs installed due to the incorrect size of bulbs he had given us. On 5/23/14, Mr. [redacted] came to pick up his car and we explained that the headlight bulbs could not be installed, because they were incompatible with his make and model car. He then asked if we could get the correct size bulb, in which I replied yes to and informed him that it would cost $50.00 to have the bulbs ordered and installed. Mr. [redacted] agreed to the product and installation price and we scheduled an appointment for the following day (5/24/14) at 9:00 am. Mr. [redacted] never showed up for his scheduled appointment and nor did he call to inform us that he was not going to come in.Mr. [redacted] came back to shop on 5/27/14 stating that some of the repaired areas of his car did not match the original color of dip applied to car. I noticed the difference at this point and agreed to re-dip the entire car free, incurring and absorbing labor charges, cost of products needed for dip job and shipping/handling. At this point Mr. [redacted] told me he wanted to change the color of his dip (instead of redoing the job in the exact same color). I understood his frustration and told him I would gladly buy any extra product needed to change color and would not charge him for product and any additional labor. He decided on a matte blue finish, which was more of an expensive attempt to satisfy Mr. [redacted] than the original dip paint (balloon white) would have been, by this point I had incurred and absorbed a total of $235.00, not including labor costs, in a good faith attempt to rectify the situation and satisfy Mr. [redacted]. We scheduled an appointment for a complete re-dip job for 6/3/14 at 9:00 am.Once again, Mr. [redacted] failed to arrive for is scheduled appointment. Mr. [redacted] called the following day (6/4/14) to ask about HID bulbs and then asked if we could dip his car on 6/6/14, with no mention or explanation as to why he had skipped his appointment the day before. Mr. [redacted] again stated that he did not care how long we had his car for (we never agreed upon a date or time to pick up the car). Mr. [redacted] then went on to explain that he could get the HID lights on eBay for $12.00 and stated that I should give him a better deal because of all the problems that had occurred thus far. Trying to appreciate his frustration I informed him that EDR Mobile's cost for the bulbs was $22.00 and that we would charge him $30.00 for the bulbs and include free labor and a 1 year warranty. At this time during our phone call Mr. [redacted] did not agree with me as to the price of the bulbs and the associated installation and stated that we would discuss the price on the day he was scheduled for his re-dip (6/6/14).Mr. [redacted] failed to show up for his 2 day blocked appointment on 6/6/14, nor did he call to let us know that he would not be coming in. On 6/11/14 Mr. [redacted] came to EDR Mobile and apologized for not showing up or at least calling us on 6/6/14, once again providing another excuse for his delinquency. At this point I apologized to him and explained to him that EDR Mobile was booked out for 2 weeks and could not re-dip his car any sooner than that. I then explained that all he has to do is show up with his car for the scheduled appointment and everything will be taken care of. The customer expressed frustration, but was starting to realize my frustration of willing to get his car done ASAP, but not being able to do so, due to his negligence. I explained that I could not keep blocking 2 days of shop time only to have him repeatedly not to show up as this prevented me from scheduling any other customers and in-fact at this point was having a serious and detrimental impact on EDR Mobile's business. Mr. [redacted] once again told me that he understood the situation and scheduled his car to be dropped off 6/26/14 at 9:00 am and picked up 6/28/14 at 5:00 pm.Mr. [redacted] arrived at EDR Mobile on 6/27/14 (a full day late) at 2:00 pm to drop car off. I asked why he had missed his appointment again and he said he thought it was 6/27/14 and that the appointment was made so long ago he couldn't remember the scheduled times. I then explained to him that this was not the fault of EDR Mobile and neither were the other numerous missed appointments that we had scheduled for him. At this time I informed Mr. [redacted] that we could not start his re-dip job half way through his 2 day blocked appointment, because again this would tend to affect other of EDR Mobile's clients that were honoring to their scheduled appointments. It was at this time that Mr. [redacted] became disorderly and began to insult EDR Mobile as well as me personally. He told me that he didn't even want us to fix his car and stated that he didn't think I knew what I was doing and that he knew that it doesn't take that long to re-dip a car, suggesting he could paint the car himself. At no point in this process did EDR Mobile refuse to repair his paint job. We simply informed him that as he had missed his appointment that he would have to reschedule another appointment 2 weeks out (as we were fully booked). Mr. [redacted] then started personally insulting me again and mentioned that his kids are starving because he does not have a job and then told me that the job had to be done sooner than 2 weeks and didn't care how much it would inconvenience EDR Mobile or other EDR Mobile customers. Mr. [redacted] said if I couldn't get it done any sooner, he would take is vehicle elsewhere to get fixed. In response, I offered him all the product he would need for the repair to be completed elsewhere prior to the deadline he had now unilaterally imposed. Mr. [redacted] then took the material (3 gallons of blue plasti-dip) put it in his car and speed out of the parking lot, creating a safety concern and a disturbance to other shops and individuals in and around the parking lot. Mr. [redacted] then called me and engaged in various threats including a threat that he would contact the Revdex.com if I didn't acquiesce to his unreasonable demands. This was simply not possible or fair to my other customers as I had previously explained to Mr. [redacted]. In closing I would like to note that EDR Mobile and I did everything within reason to try and fix Mr. [redacted]'s car and satisfy him, including but limited to incurring and absorbing many ancillary and out of pocket costs, as well as losing real revenue in connection with the lost shop days for which he was responsible (as he consistently failed to show up for scheduled appointments) all while charging Mr. [redacted] significantly less than the average price of a dip-job in an attempt to accommodate and assist with his financial hardships and lack of employment. My interactions with Mr. [redacted] concluded with me wishing him, good luck with his re-dip and again offering to schedule an appointment.Sincerely, Eric [redacted] EDR Mobile Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)There was never really a specified time, I don't schedule anything in my life at 9am unless its a doctors appointment for my kids so I highly doubt that, Eric never told me I HAD to be there the minute he opened his shop (9am). All I want is my car repainted the color we originally planned. I don't care if EDR has on a 3 week waiting list, I just want to get it done with. I'm not asking for my money back, I'm not trying to sue EDR Mobile, I just want it repainted the color I paid for, I still have the 3 gallons of plasti dip that Mr. [redacted] rudely DROPPED ON THE FLOOR and gave me. Hardly the way he said he did in his response, sealed and untouched. I already spoke with the people at dipyourcar.com, they easily sent back for the balloon white, that was not a problem with them. The fact of the matter is, no matter what way you cut it, I paid for a service that was not done the right, twice. the reason I was offended when Eric scheduled me so far out is because I paid a lot of money for this paint job, and I was hoping I would be held with higher regard instead of being pushed three weeks out after the job was done wrong twice. I don't have money to waste, no my kids are not starving but what I meant by that is we aren't exactly rolling in money right now to be wasting on failed paint jobs, this was a gift to myself after I had caught my bills up and had extra spending money, only to be wasted for nothing. As far as the bumper work goes, Eric was the one that suggested to ask the people across from him to see if they might do it for a good price, so I'm not sure how they were "insulted". I had paid them a week or two back for work on my car to fix my two flex pipes. They did them for a really fair price and was just trying to give them a little more business, again completely irrelevant, no idea why that was brought up.Last couple things to note on.1.) I did NOT originally want to change the color of the dip job, Eric was the one that gave me that option and was giving me suggestions to other colors because he said white was hard to work with. After all this I do not want to even try another color, to many mistakes. I would just like to keep the color I was going for in the beginning. I spoke with the people at dipyourcar.com and they said they would take them back no problem.2.) The original paint job was no where near $1,000, that was for a completely different paint that we had talked about doing in the future (Chameleon multi color paint job). The original cost was $875 and I asked if Eric would do $850 because that was all I had budgeted toward this dip project. Nothing was in the slightest accommodated for my personal hardships, yes he did install the bumper I bought on my car for free, but that was it(Which I did appreciate very much), but I dont think Eric would pass up $850 because of something as simple as putting a bumper on. I dont think it should really account for anything since I told him I knew people who could put it on so he didn't have to. I am appalled Mr. [redacted] is trying to make it seem like he took such a huge cut off the price of the job. 3.) I never said I didn't want EDR to not fix my car, and I never said I want to do it myself. Eric became as frustrated as me when I made the comment "How long does it really take to dip a car". And said then you can do it yourself and began to drop the dip gallons on the ground for me to collect. That is when I then left, got home and tried to call him awhile later when I thought the situation calmed down, I called him multiple times to try and talk to him before I then got even more frustrated and left him a message threatening to contact the Revdex.com.Sincerely,Joseph [redacted]
