I received a letter today from the Revdex.com concerning an incident with a sprinkler head from a homeowner in Fishers,INI am the office manager for our company, and unfortunately this was my first time hearing about the incidentIn speaking with my co-workers about the incident, they stated the flag
was not put there on that particular day, nor were they the tech who put the flag in that location at allIn speaking with the homeowner I told him I was at fault for having my employee's at his homeThe homeowner gave us a call in October to winterize his system, which we didDuring my conversation with this gentleman, I asked him, as I do all of the new homeowners, if he was interested in having a company take care of his system, or was he just simply interested in having the winterization onlyI was told at that time he was just wanting winterized for nowI took that mean we should call him next year, and left him in our system, to be sure to call him next year., which is now (2016)It appears I overlooked putting a note by his account on this years record that it was to be called before serviced, and my service team went to the property to do the jobThey did not turn the water on which made it even crazier, but the customer is always rightI choose to call this homeowner to discuss these events, and to apologize for my mistakesI also wanted to replaced the broken head to make it right with the homeowner, and to do that I did not want to have someone go onto the property without direct permission againThe homeowner did say he seen the guys walk around back, and I agreed with himHe did say his water was not on yet so I suggested that we wait until he decided to have the water to his irrigation system on to replace the head he stated was broke and flagged by my teamI felt it was only doing half of the job if we were unable to ensure the head we was replacing was being done with a good replacementAfter the homeowner started his system up for the first time, he was nice enough to call me back to say that the head in question was actually a head next to a pond and did not have a direct effect on his systemMy understanding was that this head was not in use at all due to its location being near a pondHe was unsure why our flag was there just as I was but he did state that none of his head were damaged by my team being on his lawn, and there was no need to have a team member stop by to repair anythingAll's well that ends well I guess, well except for our company getting a complaint for an unjust reason Thanks for all of your help, Problem solvedHave a great day Cindy J*** Office Manager Edwards Irrigation IncE59Th StIndianapolis, IN Office: Fax: www.edwardsirrigation.com
