Edward's Transmissions & Engines

This letter is in response to the above reference complaint, (ID [redacted]), filed by [redacted] on April 1st, 2015. We truly regret the inconvenience to Ms [redacted] regarding transmission issues with her vehicle. Ms [redacted] brought her 2007 Ford Freestyle to our shop in August of 2013 with obvious transmission issues. The transmission for this vehicle is NOT rebuildable. We purchased a NEW transmission from Sharp Parts, (Ford), and installed the unit at a cost of $5,959 , (see attached). The warranty through Ford covers three, (3) years with unlimited miles. The vehicle was returned to our facility on or about March 6, 2015 with transmission issues. Upon inspection we would need to replace the transmission under warranty at no cost to Ms [redacted]. The transmission arrived about 3/15/2015 and was promptly installed. Upon final inspection we determined this transmission was faulty. We called Sharp Parts, (Ford), and they sent us another new replacement unit. This unit arrived about 3/23/2015. We installed this unit with no additional issues. Ford Motor Company agreed to pay our labor rate for these two installations totaling $1260. Our policy here at Edward's Transmissions is not to release a vehicle until payment is rendered. The Owner of our Company, Kevin C[redacted], was on vacation until 3/30/2015. Mr. C[redacted] agreed to release the vehicle without payment to Ms [redacted] on 4/1/2015 prior to our receipt of this notice. The vehicle was picked up on 4/1/2015 after normal business hours.
