Efficent Constuction

Review: In July 2011 Efficient Waterproofing was paid $1800.00 to waterproof our basement/foundation walls (with the assistance of [redacted] Landscaping who was paid approximately $5000.00) to prevent moisture in our finished basement. In June 2013 we decided to remodel the basement. When the walls were removed there was obvious evidence of moisture, most notably in the corners and lower portion of the walls. Paul Goodman Jr. came to my house to inspect the issues, and said that there is nothing that could be done because of the high water table in the area. I then asked Mr. Goodman why I wasn't told this prior to the job being done, and he stated that he has never been to my house and it was dry at the time the job was done. When asked about the guarantee of our basement being dry, Mr. Goodman said that there is nothing he can do about the moisture, and again stated it was because of the high water table in the area. I then asked why I wasn't told this prior to paying, and he said it was because he did not know about the water table being high, but then stated his company waterproofed my neighbors basement the year prior. Despite seeing the basement walls, Mr. Goodman stated multiple times that I had to show him evidence that the waterproofing was not working even though he was in the basement twice during his visit at which time he was shown, and recognized the moisture on our basement walls. He continued to deny any responsibility following this recognition. He left my property following a verbal argument on the above issues, and after leaving his business card that states "Guaranteed Dry Basements". This occurred on June 24th, 2013.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of all money paid to Efficient Waterproofing and [redacted] Landscaping (separate complaint description to be completed for [redacted] Landscaping) due to failed "guaranteed" waterproofing work.

I didn't work for this it. I worked for Mr. [redacted] not the home owner. I done a leak test for the it no water came in. Mr. [redacted] didn't know about the water in the gravel. He is not God. The hole was dug when I got there.

As I said before. I didn't work for this man. Mr. [redacted] gave me the money and I gave him the receipt. The basement is not leaking through the wall. I done a leak test to show this it it is not leaking from what we done. I can't or Mr. [redacted] can't fix something that aint broke.

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Again, I do not accept the response from this company secondary to proof that he worked on my house (the receipt). I believe that if he didn't do the work then he wouldn't have made the receipt out to me. He finds it easier to deny that he performed the work and any responsibility, and to call me an it and other names which I can't mention here. I will continue to deny any response from this company due to Paul Goodman Jr.'s lack of integrity, professionalism, and maturity. Regards, [redacted]
