Review: I came to [redacted] of Effort Realty and her associate broker [redacted] of [redacted] for help to find an apartment after my home had been burglarized and [redacted] charged me fifty dollars to see the apartment and [redacted] was prompted to collect more than half of the money (2,087) in order to hold the apartment for me. They tried to charged me 3,055 dollars for an apartment in the projects. The rent was 1686 and they stated that their fee was time and a half which would make their profit 2,529. So, not only did they over charge me for an apartment. But they charged me for an apartment they are not authorized to collect funds for because the apartment belonged to low-income public housing. I went to the local precinct only to find out that these two woman have been victimizing consumers for years. They have been notorious for wording contracts in such a way that it seems legal but it is far from it. After they scam consumers out of thousands of dollars they relocate to areas such as Manhattan, Washington heights, Bronx they then return to the original place where they've originated their scams and start the process all over again. I've contacted the housing authority and the real estate commissioners office to make sure that this doesn't happen to anyone else again. Since Then [redacted] is now at the same location and [redacted] of [redacted] now works independently selectively between [redacted] between [redacted] and [redacted] in the Bronx and [redacted] in the Bronx . I've made several attempts to acquire my funds but they duck and dodge me and only make rare appearances when preparing for their new victims. They are now currently facing investigation, if you have found yourself to be a victim of their scams please leave a complaint with the Revdex.com and the Department of State Licensing at [redacted]....Thank you for your support.Desired Settlement: My desired settlement would be a complete refund of the money I paid $2037.00 and to also have this placed on their records so they that their unable to scam anyone else.
