Response: The original purchase was made August 19, 2016 as a "Cash Sale" . The "normal" time for returns by our industry customers would be 30 - days. There was no company name on the invoice , just an individual. On the front of the sales order there is a block of items including; terms,...

credit, returns, claims, restocking fee policy etc. Item 2 on the list reads as follows "No credit will be allowed on goods returned without permission" ; item 5 on the list reads as follows "We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee on all authorized stock product returns" The return in question was attempted in and around the middle of July 2017, almost a year after the purchase. The  items that were attempted to be returned had scratches, rusting ,packaging removed and mounting screws missing. After inspection by our warehouse manager  said their were seven grilles that we could put back on the shelf for resale but to expect at least a 35% restocking fee. When the request to authorize the return came to our office administrator she explained to our salesperson that due to the length of time from date of purchase to return that our head office would not normally approve such a credit on a cash sale. As for the day of the attempted return the customer came during our lunch hour and when it was brought to management the answer was no credit based on the length of time from date of purchase, poor storage and lack of care of the product.
