I'm writing this review on behalf of my mother who doesn't use FacebookShe has been a customer of Whitson for many many years and never had complaints Six months ago she had a new compressor put in and was charged a fortune, I called around and there were cheaper places but she wanted to go with the company she trustedAfter Irma, her house had no power for a weekWhen it came on, the AC turned on and it blew warm air, and the outside piece was not coming onShe called Whitson to come out yesterday, and when she told the man that the outside piece was not turning on, he spent almost hours inside looking at the inside pieceNothing wrong(which she already knew)Then he went outside and proceeded to tell her the compressor needed to be replacedThe same one she paid a fortune for months agoWhen she told him that HE WAS THE ONE WHO PUT IT IN, he said nothing, and when he gave her the bill she said no way, she will talk to manager This morning the manager informed her that the work was guaranteed for days only, she was responsible for the whole payment, but they could do it tomorrowShe hung up on him, understandablyAfter all these years, they treat a valued customer that way I called a friend of mine who is in the AC business, he went out an hour ago and looked at it for secondsHe said the compressor was fineNeeded to release some pressure from the outside unit, which he did, and my mom has had cold AC the past hourDidn't charge her a penny Seems to me that Whitson has changed over the years and is now out for a buck any way they can, even to a senior citizen living on a very fixed budgetShame on youNobody in our family or our friends will be calling you againCrooks!!!

HARD LESSON LEARNED TOO LATE: I should have read the Yelp and other reviews before using EHWhitson CompanySo many were less than stellar and I am kicking myself for trusting themI found them to be one of "those" companies that do the EASY rather than the RIGHT thing when dealing with customers, customer service, and corporate responsibility
I trusted them with several home projects including electrical, air conditioning, and plumbingDisappointment came when we put in a generatorWhat makes the entire thing even more disappointing and infuriating is that the majority of bad customer service came from the President of the company, himself, *** ***
The first sign of potential incompetence was over the permitsAfter weeks of waiting and hearing nothing from the company, I called to see what was taking so longI expected them to say that it was the permit bureaucracy and that their hands were tiedInstead, I was told that they had NEVER even filed for the permits and therefore would need to start againNeedless to say, my disappointment was great but mistakes happenI just swallowed it and waited againAnd again...nothingThis time when I called to inquire (again, they did NOT reach out to me) I was told that they needed more information in order to file for the permitsWhen I inquired why they didn't ask for this at the very beginning of the process (over weeks previous) they simply said "oops, sorry." So now, we were back at square one...again!
Before we contracted for the generator I did some research and due diligence to see if there were any specials offered by the manufacturer, GeneracIndeed, there were, especially on extended warrantiesBut those specials had deadlines so I told Whitson of the deadlinesIn fact, I spoke directly to the President (***), who assured me that all was taken care ofI reminded him that there was a deadline by which the generator needed to be purchased and by which it needed to be installedHe assured me, personally, that he had taken care of everything and there was nothing to worry aboutI even called him to remind him of the deadline a few days before just in case it had slipped through the cracks as had the permit processAgain, he absolutely assured me that all was done and there would be no problemThis turned out to be a completely fabricated falsehood
Now, it was close to the deadline of installationSuddenly I am told that there would be a delay because they have other customers ahead of us and that "everyone wants it yesterday." That's when I finally realized what kind of company I was dealing withI reminded them that over weeks ago, we were calmly, patiently, and with no pressure waiting our turn and for them to now put us in the category of wanting it "yesterday' was completely unacceptable, insulting, and a problem that needed to be fixedThey complied...very begrudginglyAgain, they seemed to prefer the easy thing over honesty, reliability, and customer service
Eventually, the generator was installedThey missed the deadline but, as pure luck would have it, Generac extended the installation deadline due to storms in Florida so we were still eligible for the extended warranty...that is until we learned that *** had lied to me...boldfaced and without apologyHe NEVER had purchased the generator by the deadline even though he expressly told me he did and even though we had paid for it in advanceHow did I find out? I called the company he purchased the generator from and was told that he had purchased it just a day or two before, well after the deadline he assured me he had met
Could it get worse? Absolutely! I have called *** at least 5-times to ask what he would do about thisHe told me to get him info on the extended warranty and he would see what he could doI sent him the info and waited to hear backAnd waited...and waitedI called him again and asked what was going onHe promised to call me backHe never didI called againHe promised to call me backHe never didI called againHe promised to call me backHe never didHe has promised to call me back to let me know what he will do at least times in the last two monthsI'm still waitingSo, what to do with this information?
I pass it on to other potential customers and real estate agents when asked whom I do or don't recommend for home servicesI divest myself of any services offered by EHWhitson CompanyWe still have some contracted services with them but those will not be renewed unless *** convinces me that our business is important, explains his consistent falsehoods, rectifies his mistakes, and keeps his promises (his previously consistent pattern gives the impression that this will NOT happen)And I post my review on any and all social media sites that accept reviews including on our residential HOA site so my neighbors can be aware of this company's lack of professionalism and inability to take responsibility

Charged $195.00 to change faucet handle. Price was not same as quote--they spent under 10 minutes in house. TOTAL CROOKS.
