Review: I visited Einstein Ctr. One on 10/12/13 for my annual gyn. appoint. I saw Dr. L**. My annual visit was covered at 100% by my insurance. During my visit I asked for my annual pap smear to be done during my visit, as that was also covered once per year by my insurance. Dr. L** said that because of recent research it was not necessary to have the pap smear done annually. I voiced that I would prefer it to be done and that I would mostly need it for other medical treatment I was undergoing at the time. She stated that she didn't want to do it because the current research says that it is not necessary to be done each year and that if I needed it for the other doctor/medical center I was going to for this other treatment then to just come back and she would have no problem doing it. I still preferred to have it done that day but I felt that I was not being listened to and I had no option because she refused to do it. As it turned out the other doctor/medical center I was going to for a different issue did need my pap smear results. I contacted Dr. L**'s Office/Einstein Center One, explained why I needed to return & that Dr. L** said it would be no problem. When I went in for my pap smear on 10/28/13 the office wanted to charge me $25 for the office visit, which would have been my co-pay for subsequent visits that year. However, I told them that I should not be made to pay that fee because it was their fault that I had to return. My first visit and pap smear was covered at 100% by my insurance and had the pap smear been done, as I requested, during my previous visit I would not have had to return for another visit and therefore would not have to pay a $25 fee, because it would have been covered. I voiced this to the front desk & I did not pay on this day and was led into the room to see the dr. for my test and led to believe that I was not going to be charged. I didn't give this a second thought until this past August 2014 I received a letter from [redacted]., a collection agency, trying to collect this $25 from that visit. I wrote a letter to [redacted] stating that I dispute this claim and wrote exactly what I did here. Today, 10/23/14 I received another letter from [redacted] stating nothing about my disputing the claim but just that I am seriously delinquent on this account. I am outraged that Einstein would not give my the pap smear I requested during my covered annual exam and made me have to come back and then when I did try to charge me for this when it was their fault I had to come back, and then lead me to believe that they weren't going to charge me after I voiced my belief about the payment not being fair practices. They allowed me to see the dr. on the second visit with me believing that I would not owe anything. This is shady business tactics and should not be allowed. I stand by what I said to them on that day. I should not have to pay for that visit when it was their mistake as to why I needed that second visit.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is that I want them to contact [redacted]., [redacted] NJ [redacted] (###-###-####) and I want them to do whatever is necessary to clear my name from this claim, withdraw the claim, - whatever they need to do so that I am not responsible for paying this $25.00. I would like a confirmation letter stating the claim has been closed satisfactorily and will not go on my credit report. I also would like a letter of apology from Einstein Center One.
