Review: On July 15th, 2012 I purchased two remote keys for my car. Not in immediate need of them I had the keys programed by a car dealership in September 2012. On November 5th the top of one of the keys where the key ring hooks broke off. I contacted the company to see if they could send me a replacement cover for the key and they indicated that because it was outside of their 60 day return period I could not get a refund. When I explained that I didnt want a refund I just wanted them to send me a replacement cover I was told that I could buy one. I was told this both times that I called. In speaking with the last employee of the company today, I asked if the key had mechanical failure I wouldn't be able to get that replaced either and he said no. There is no exchange policy. There is no way that if this was a quality product that it should have broken in that short of time.Desired Settlement: The cover for this product I think is approximately $7 each. I would like for the company to send 1 to replace the broken 1 and 1 them in case the other one breaks as well.

Response:

The customer contacted us 121 days after they purchased a remote head key for their vehicle explaining that the key ring portion of their all in one remote head key had broke. We informed the customer that the item they purchased was well outside of our warranty period and that we could sell them a new replacement case for $8 (eight dollars). We don't lease remotes and keys, nor rent them, we "sell" them. The only way to break one of these cases is to heavily abuse the product. We are not going to be responsible for customers negligence to take care of their property. We offer extremely inexpensive replacements and offered the customer a replacement case for our cost which was not good enough. A majority of what we sell are electronic parts, not even Wal-mart will refund or exchange electronics after 14 days! We offer 60 days, not 121 days. If we replaced every item a customer abuses at our expense then we would be out of business.
