Ekmar Abstract & Title Reviews (3)

I had no interest in the sale of Mr.***'s vehicleI put the car on my lot to help an individual sell itI received no compensationMr*** had his opportunity to do his due diligence.I'm not concerned with ***'s (*** owner) opinion of my pricingAfter being in business for years, it should be obvious that we are competetiveMr*** has the option to not pay what he promised to payThat is a chance I took when he made the agreementI will not persue him for payment.Bear in mind that we still don't know what is wrong with his car and whether my work has any connection to the current problemThere has been no evidence to that fact. This transaction reminds of the old saying "no good deed goes unpunished".I will consider this matter closed.Respectfully,*** Pruitt

[redacted]When Mr. [redacted] brought his Taurus in we diagnosed a power steering leak at both the high pressure line and the power rack/pinion assembly. He was given the option of repairing the line leak ( the worst of the two leaks) or repairing both. It was my understanding at the end of our...

conversation that we had the go- ahead to repair both. When Mr. [redacted] arrived to pick up the car, he stated that he had only authorized the pressure line repair for $380.00. That is not what I remember. In a spirit of cooperation, I allowed Mr. [redacted] to pay only the $380.00 and take his car. (Unheard of at most repair facilities). It is policy to retain the original repair order w/ original signature when partial payment is made. The repair order is gone over line by line with the customer. A photo copy is made available to the customer along with a handwritten receipt for the payment amount.( It is possible that the photocopy was omitted as Mr. [redacted] arrived with partial payment at the end of the day unexpectedly.) When Mr. [redacted] returned with a problem, he caught me at a time when the technician was out sick w/ the flu. He missed an entire week of work. As it was "touch and go" regarding his return, I did ask Mr. [redacted] to check back with me. Please understand that we typically schedule 1-2 weeks out and when 1 of 2 techs is out, to say that the work "bottlenecks", is an understatement. I typically prioritize those vehicles that are undriveable. Upon the subsequent inspection we found that a rear cradle bushing had rusted to the point that it fell out. Mr. [redacted] has been advised that his vehicle has an inordinate amount of under car rust. This failure was unrelated to our work on the power steering system. A missing cradle bushing will however effect how a vehicle steers. Knowing that Mr. [redacted] was already making payments on prior work, I "wholesaled" the job to him and extended further credit. Once again, trying to help. He was also reminded that he has a broken coil spring on the right front that could , at times, cause the vehicle not to steer properly. Mr. [redacted] stopped by on two or three occasions after the original repair to tell me that he did not have the money to pay as promised. I extended grace and told him that I appreciated that he stopped by and kept in communication with me. The last time I spoke with him was on Oct. 20th, 2016. I'm sure he's been driving the vehicle ever since. All of my work is guaranteed 12 months/ 12k miles. I would like the opportunity to make my work right IF the current problem is related to my work. If Mr. [redacted] decides to take his car elsewhere, any work done to my repairs will void any warranty expressed or implied by Pruitt's Automotive. If any repair shop finds that my workmanship or material is defective, they must document said defects before any adjustments will be made. Keeping in mind, of course, that the original bill of $1085.14 has a balance due of $455.14. This does not include the additional work in the amount of $121.74. Mr. [redacted]'s signature is evident on both invoices authorizing the repairs. I am mailing the hard copies to you at this time. Respectfully, [redacted] Pruitt

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[[redacted] only gave me a copy of the receipts from payments made but he never gave me a copy of the itemized bill. He stated that I would not get the itemized bill until I paid the bill in full. I do appreciate him giving me a chance to pay the bill but he got my original direction wrong. The reason I had the $380 to pay for my car repair originally is because that was the job I told him to do - job A - fix the hose. I would never have told him to do the complete job costing $1000 because I don't have that kind of money. I would not be comfortable taking my car back to Pruitt's to fix. I was unable to get a copy of what is wrong with my car dealing with the power steering from [redacted] Automotive (closed until Jan. 2, 2017) to send with this message. However, the work will cost me an additional $332 to repair the power steering. When I told [redacted] owner) what was done to my car, he just stated that getting to the power steering unit takes a lot of time but shook his head about the job costing $1,000. The resolution to this situation that would satisfy me would be: Pruitt's will write off the remaining balance-$455+.  If it comes down to my having to pay the balance, I will pay the balance, but I will not be a "happy camper". Since I bought the car off Pruitt's lot and they knew the car--why didn't they tell me about all the rust under the bottom of the car--I would not have bought the car. Now it sounds like the car was in a flood.]
Regards,
[redacted]
