Revdex.com:
I appreciate the fact that El Azteca has finally acknowledged that our receipt was missing an itemized chargeI would have rather had them acknowledge it when we brought it to their attention at the restaurant that night, but I can tell that customer service and satisfaction isn't very important to themCan you please advise what our rights are as consumers in this situation? We're still frustrated by the fact that their POS system allowed our order/receipt to total $more than the sum of the itemized chargesEditing our receipt more than a month after complaining about it doesn't really address the fact that their POS system allowed the error in the first placeIs there a regulatory authority to whom we can complain? Is it legal for El Azteca to charge their customers more than the sum of the itemized charges? It really seems like they should be cited for this.Sincerely,*** ***

"We will not change the menu because this was a special request and it is not something that we do on a regular basesWe just made grilled chicken for $extraThats why his reciept says the chargeHe will not be refunded the $He consumed the food and the ASKED us to do HIM a favor by

I am rejecting this response because:This response does not address all of our concernsPlease look at the picture of the receipt that we attached to our original complaint. You can see on the receipt that we ordered "Bur Pollo ***Calif** ASADO." Isn't Pollo Asado grilled chicken? You have a Pollo Asado burrito on your menu, which is what we ordered, so why would you charge us $over the listed price? The bigger issue is that the math on the receipt doesn't add upAgain, please look at the picture of the receipt that we provided and add everything up on a calculatorBur Desebrada ***Calif** **Mojado** = $Soft Drink = $Bur Pollo ***Calif** ASADO = $10.19Tax = $2.07$+ $+ $+ $= $27.69Even though our itemized charges only come to $27.69, the receipt shows a total of $and my Visa was charged $Please explain thisEven though the $up-charge still makes no sense to me, I understand that's likely where the discrepancy is coming fromWHY ISN'T THE $UPCHARGE ITEMIZED ON OUR RECEIPT???To the folks at the Revdex.com (who I hope are monitoring this exchange): Is it legal for El Azteca to charge their patrons for things that aren't itemized on the receipt? In other words, is El Azteca in breach of any laws, regulations, or local ordinances by providing a receipt where the itemized charges don't add up to the grand total?

Response:The customer came in and bought food the waitress accidentally typed in the wrong amount when finalizedThe customer came back and told us that the restaurant took too much money out we asked for a receipt or statement from her bank when she brought it in that following night I called the
following morning and the bank credited her the full amount not including what she had actually bought in foodThe bank said it would return within to hours we did not mean for this to happen and it was an honest mistakewe apologize for all the inconvenience this caused

This is how the customers receipt should of looked like. I know the cashier put it in without the proper heading OPEN FOOD $2.00 but this is what the tot should be. We did not overcharge

Review: El Azteca is set up so that customers immediately order and pay at the register and then the food is delivered to the table. When paying for my food this evening, the price seemed a bit high but I wasn't given an itemized receipt to check. After I finished eating, I went back to the register and asked for an itemized receipt. The total was $29.69, but the items that I ordered and the corresponding prices on the receipt didn't add up to $29.69. Here's what our receipt shows:1 Burrito Desebrada (CA style & wet): $12.841 Burrito Pollo (CA style): $10.191 Soft Drink: $2.59Tax: $2.07When you add that all up it comes to $27.69, so we were over-charged by $2. My husband brought this to the attention of the woman who was operating the register and she told us that they charge $2 more for grilled chicken. If that's the case, why isn't the additional charge itemized on our receipt and why doesn't their menu state that grilled chicken is an extra $2? El Azteca refused to refund the $2 so we left.Desired Settlement: 1) I'd like the $2 refunded2) I'd like El Azteca to correct their menu so it reflects a $2 upcharge for grilled chicken.3) I'd like El Azteca to fix their point-of-sale system so that their receipts show all charges and the math adds up correctly.

Review: On April 10th,2016 I went into this establishment and picked up my order and paid with my credit card like I always have in the past. On April 17th,2016 apon checking my bank statement I realized that El Azteca had over charged me $500. I went into the restaurant and spoke with a [redacted] and she told me to come back in Tuesday April 19th after 6pm because the [redacted] would be there that day and could fix my issue. On Tuesday April 19th, I went in there at 6:40pm, I spoke with another [redacted] and she called over who I was told was the [redacted]. The [redacted] then told me that he would put my money back in my card by midnight. It is now Thursday and I still have not received my money. On Wednesday April 20th, I spoke with an employee named [redacted] and he told me that my money had been refunded and should show up by the end of the night. He then proceeded to tell me that the cashier TIPPED herself the $500 on accident but forgot about it and finished her shift and went home. [redacted] then said she hadn't remembered until Tuesday when she came in for her shift, but that by that time I had already came in. I find this completely false because my check was not closed out until April 12th, and I originally went in on April 10th. I was told by my bank that the transaction was ran two separate days. It was ran on the 10th for $57.62 and then finally closed out on the 12th for $567. I don't understand how something this big could go unnoticed by management and why it wasn't fixed before I came in. I strongly believe that if I wouldn't have noticed this that this would have never been "fixed". I'm still being charged for my original transaction and not once has the [redacted] even offered a sincere apology or made me feel secure that this isn't something that has happened before.Desired Settlement: I would like for management to take a better look at their balances at the end of the night so something like this never happens to anyone again. I would also like for my money back in full as to I'm now having to use my rent money to cover for my other bills because one of their cashiers took it apon herself to tip herself $500 of my money.
