Good Morning,
">In response to the above listed complaint ID from Mr*** ***:
I was able to get in touch with Mr*** shortly after he submitted the complaint to you and was able to resolve his concern. We were able to trade Mr*** out of the original motorcycle that he purchased, and into a new one that fulfills his needs for a comparable purchase amount. Review: [redacted] My purchase was not what was represented/or what was wantedI went to El Cajon Harley Davidson dealership and looked at the motorcycles they had for sale after viewing them on line for about a week. I gave a deposit and was allowed to finance through Harley Davidson financial services...I never test rode the motorcycle I purchased nor did I ride it home. After about a week still the motorcycle remained at the dealership, my wife and I had quarreled because the 2012 used Harley Davison that I purchased had only 450 miles on it so it was like new but it would not accommodate a passenger very well, so I contacted the dealership and asked them to tear up the contract. Reverse the purchase. Since the dealership still had the motorcycle- no new miles - still I their possession- no liquidated damages I asked them to void the contract and they said no. I called Harley financial services and asked them to void the contract and they also told me no that I was a signed contract and they would not void it,( it was because they had already made such a large profit from me on the purchase and they understood to void the contract they would loose the deal even if I didn't want to continue with the purchase). I hung up the phone from talking with Harley financial and feeling like they used predatory financing on me forcing me to continue with this purchase even if I didn't want to continue. With in (5) minutes of talking with Harley, the dealership called me back and told me they had the motorcycle I purchased on a trailer and it was being delivered to my house whether I wanted it or not forcing me once again to take possession of a bike I never rode and I knew was not the correct vehicle for me and my family. I ride to and from my work everyday about 45 miles each way and my complaint was my wife would not be able to ride on the back when we went riding. I wanted to upgrade to a motorcycle that would work for me. I went to (3) different dealerships and each said the value of the brand new bike in trade was half the purchase I was financing. In less than a month the value was over $7000. Less. No dealership would take my motorcycle In trade unless I paid $14000. Towards the new motorcycle as told to them from Harley financial. Harley was not willing to reverse the purchase and now they would not refinance unless they collected a large amount from the first purchase which was my legal right to void prior to the dealership forcing the delivery of the motorcycle even after I told them to void it. I told them that Harley Davidson should stand behind their motorcycles better than that. After a month if the motorcycle I purchased had decreased in fair market value by $7,500 in less than a month then the Harley Davidson motorcycle was not the right purchase for my family. I would like to give the motorcycle back but Harley would not accept it. I called Harley owners group and complained and they said there is nothing that they could do, but they would call the dealership and tell them I had a complaint. I already did that and nothing. Harley financial (the number you call they only handle payments and existing finances but cannot reverse or help customers with complaints- useless customer service to say the least, very poor customer service.) I called consumer fraud about predatory lending and started a complaint because I am getting no help with the purchase I have made. It is suppose to be a great experience buying a new motorcycle for you and your family. This has caused us almost to get a divorce with the tensions and headaches and lack of customer support from this experience. The dealership called me today and said they had authorization to make things right to take the bike back in trade towards something that would work for me and my family but after 2-3 hours again waiting for Harley financial services to approve the deal they said no way. Now my wife would need to be signed up on the contract or it was no deal. My wife at this point is so mad that the dealership is just trying to extract more money from us that she would not sign to be on the contract or be associated with the dealership...any of them because they do not stand behind the purchase price of the bike or the value they represented to us at the time of purchase. What a big scam they have pulled and Harley should be ashamed that they practice this sort of salesmanship and the dealerships should be held accountable for fraud selling and financing and forcing people to accept deliveries of vehicles they clearly have stated were the wrong ones at time of purchase. I could of financed a different one to fit my family's needs if they would of voided the contract the first time I asked. This would all of been solved...they created this problem.....I am so upset I ready to give the motorcycle back knowing my credit has been now ruined for seven years as a give back repo or voluntary repo back to Harley financial. I am willing to walk away.if Harley does not stand behind their vehicles quality, value, craftsmanship & dealerships, they do not represent a great product I was lead to believe they made. I think new vehicles values should last at least a month. Not be ruined or cut in half. If Harley Davidson would like to know more about this bad experience they are welcome to contact me at [redacted] @ [redacted] or by telephone at [redacted] or [redacted] I hope you can help me and my family. It hasn't even been 1 month and this is really a terrible experience to happen to anyone though. The resolution I am seeking:Desired Settlement: I would like you to replace the product. to void the purchase before I even rode the motorcycle, before I had possession of the vehicle before it even let the dealership I knew it was not the right purchase for my family and I. I wanted to finance a different vehicle, but the vehicle they delivered with out my permission and forced me to accept had no retail value as represented and they knew that at the time of purchase. In 1 months time no dealership would accept the motorcycle in trade for more than $8500 after it was financed for $15,000. In a month the value was half. I wanted to void the purchase prior when the dealership still had the motorcycle in their possession. There would of been no liquidated damages. They could of kept my deposit. I could of walked away and went somewhere else. Harley financial would not void or transfer the loan to another motorcycle which is what I wanted to do originally. Iwould have Harley financial refinance me for a different vehicle if they are wi
