Revdex.comSeptember 2, 2016To Whom It May Concern,In regards to ID [redacted] I have read and addressed the complaint that has been filed with the Revdex.com by Mrs. [redacted] concerning the memorial marker of her mother.  After speaking with the family and explaining the issues with the marker the family completely understands that by obtaining their marker from an outside source the manufacturer and not the cemetery is the responsible party for the quality of the memorial marker. The family has purchased a new marker from a different vendor and will have the original marker removed and the new marker set in its place. I have agreed to have the new marker installed at no cost to Mrs. [redacted].  The complaint has been resolved to both party’s satisfaction.  Thank you,[redacted]General ManagerEl Camino Memorial Park

We purchased a marker for my mother who passed away December 11, 2015. The marker was installed by El Camino Memorial. When I went to the cemetery to visit my mother, my sister and I discovered that the marker has been damaged. All the engraving is off due to lawn mower going over the marker and damaging it. This has been one of the most difficult and tragic times for my family. We were devastated to see the destruction of the marker. I contacted El Camino Memorial but they never returned my calls.Desired Outcome: We would like El Camino Memorial to install the new marker that we had to purchase because of their negligence.

Review: My mother passed away on December 11, 2015. Her wish was to be laid to rest with my dad who passed away in 1985. When I inquired about the arrangements in 2012 I was told by Karly Baptiste that it would not be a problem. So since 2012 I was under the assumption that when God called my mother, she would be put to rest with my dad. When she passed away in 2015 and we went to make arrangements, we were told that would not be the case. We were distraught and shattered. We had to come up with other arrangements that were not my mother's wishes. Now after a month, when I went to inquire about a marker, I was told that we could of laid my mother to rest with my dad. We are devastated.Desired Settlement: We would like to be refunded the cost of the funeral minus what we would have paid if we laid my mother to rest with my dad.

Review: Cemetery failed to collect my deceased 19 yr. old daughters finger prints, which was for a keep sake of my only child. For three weeks, they accused me of not asking for them to be taken, then once I elevated my complaint to the General Manager, Clay, the guy who should have retrieved the finger prints, admitted that "he screwed up" and didn't get them before her burial. They messed up the headstone renderings, lied to me and scheduled 4 separate appointments with me to watch the installation of my daughters headstone foundation and the leveling of her gravesite, knowing they messed up the renderings and couldn't do the work because they didn't know the correct dimensions of the head stone. Now, they refuse to refund my money that I already paid them for my daughters headstone.

The also damaged my daughters gravesite, leaving it for me to find. After arguing with [redacted] the manager over the damage on or about March 18, I was unable to get other work orders completed until I requested their attorney's name and number, which they refuse to provide me.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of the monies I paid towards my daughters headstone.

I want them to Donate $10k ($5k ea.) to two seniors at my daughters former high school, in my daughters honor.

Pay me $25k in punitive damages.

Response:

Dear Ms [redacted],

Thank you very much for your letter dated 18, 2014 with the attached complaint (ID #[redacted])

We truely regret that the Complaintnt was not satisfied with his experience at El Camino Memorial-

Sorrento Valley Chapel ("El Camino Memorial"), and we are in the process of addressing this matter

directly with the Complaintant. It is always out top priority to ensure that ever family we are privileged

to serve is completely satisfied with all of the services that we provide and we are sorry that this goal

was not achieved with the Complaintant.

We have provided a refund to the Complaintant as a customer service gesture to him for his

dissatisfaction with El Camino Memorial.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

General Manager

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

There is no offer in the business response.

[redacted] is a blatant liar. I was not "given" a refund. I brought the San Diego Police with me on June 20, 2014 to retrieve my monies [redacted] refused to return to me. San Diego Police incident # [redacted]. It was only when I arrived with two police vehicles did they turn over my monies to me.

[redacted] has failed to provide a response to their failure to retrieve my daughters fingerprints, desecration of her gravesite, harassment, emotional distress and punitive damages.

Please, inform the business that in order to settle this complaint, they need to do the following:

1. Provide

their policy and or procedure when dealing with the collection of the deceased

fingerprints.

2. Donate

$10,000.00 in honor on my daughter to two different students at my daughter’s

former college / high school.

3. Compensate

me $35,000.00 for professional misconduct, intentional emotional distress, harassment,

retaliation and punitive damages.

4. Level

and sod my daughter’s gravesite and fill in the holes around the sod with dirt.

Response:

Dear Ms. [redacted],

Thank you very much for your letter dated July 1st, 2014 with the attached complaint (ID #[redacted]).

As I mentioned in my prior response, we remain sorry that the Complainant was not satisfied with his

experience at El Camino Memorial-Sorrento Valley Chapel ("EI Camino Memorial"). Although we have

made numerous attempts to address this matter directly with the Complainant (including our providing

a refund to the Complainant as a customer service gesture), it is clear from his complaint that he is still

dissatisfied with El Camino Memorial.

Respectfully, I take great offense to the Complainant referring to me as a "blatant liar", as I have been

100% truthful with Complainant at all times throughout my communications with him. I would request

that the Revdex.com not post my name or the recent complaint as the complaint is both defaming to my

character and harassing to me. It seems extremely unfair that the Revdex.com would post the complaint while El

Camino Memorial has not mentioned Complainant by name as requested by the Revdex.com, and has certainly

not made any negative statements about Complainant.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Review: My Disabled son, [redacted], a disabled adult passed away on January 20th, 2008. At this time, I arranged to have him buried with my father and went into my Mass Mutual Fund and paid for his burial. When it came to creating a stone, I arranged for a family stone and designed it with Mr. [redacted], who is now the Cemetery Manager. [redacted] originally promised me that they would begin work on our stone when my bill was half paid.

It took me from late 2008 to 2014/15 to pay it off and I received documentation from the company which said my bill was paid in full - balance 0. for the past year and a half I have been patiently working with a Mr. [redacted] to get our stone - and still do not have a finished project. As a matter of fact, I just received an email tonight telling me that I will owe an additional $800.00; $350.00 plus $700.00! I have already given them over $7,000.00 dollars. My poor son's grave is not marked as of this date.

I require your assistance.Desired Settlement: I want the stone made for our family according to the specifications we originally discussed and I paid for; I have a drawing which demonstrates arrangements made originally.

Thank you,

[redacted]. [redacted]
