My name I *** store manager of El Camino tires on Wilson Way Stockton caand im here to respond to a current complaint a customer hasCustomer Came into our shop in search of 18" wheels and tires with no specifics in mind, all him and his wife had mentioned to me was that they wanted
Chrome 18" wheels and with a price range of under $dollarsSo my job as a tire and wheel dealer is to provide the best size for comfort in ride as stated on our website we reference to which is bigwheels.net we have been using this system for years and gives us the best size wheels and tires to provide a customer by getting the outer diameter as close as possible to stock size which in this case original stock size for a Mazda is 205-60-diameter being the 18" tire 225-45-outer diameter is and the width of the wheel is 18xWe have put 18" tires on Mazda before and had no problems Customer came in and told us that his car had damage cause of the wheels scraping and pointed out a dent that had rust on it already and did not look like it was due to the tiresI had *** look at the software we use and showed him the specs on the selection of 18" wheels and tires it recommends everything was fine when he seen the sites recommendationThen he had explained to me it only rubs when there is a lot of weight in the carI then had our mechanic look at the car and he noticed the rear shocks are leaking and we did a push down test where if you can easily push a car up and down the cars shocks are worn out and is not fully absorbing shock on the roadWe asked the Customer if he had ever replace the shocks since he has had it and he said no. So he asked for price on the shocks and agreed on coming back to get the job done in the future Customer then stated that he had been wanting to lower the car and I mention to him if he had told me that in the beginning I would have provided him the Lowest profile tire in a 18" which is 225-35-The customer then asked then what do I do with the tires I have if I want to switch to another size so I can lower my car? I then mentioned that he can sell them on *** because once I mount the tires I cant sell themOnce I explained to him and his wife that the ride of his vehicle will be alot rougher ride by lowering his car they agreed on getting the shocks changed in the future so I wrote a quote down on my business car and they said thanks for explaining everything we will be back to install the shocksresell them because they would be considered usedHim and his wife then had came to conclusion it was best for them to replace the shocks once I explained to them how ruff the ride would be if they lower the car and go down to a smaller tireI wrote the quote down for the shocks for them on my business card and they said thanks for the explanation and that they will come back for the shocks for their vehicle

I am rejecting this response because: Waiting for my insurance adjuster to come and look at my fenders to see if the damage being done is from the rims and tires. Which I know it is.I am on SSI, I have an Autistic child and two teenagers that have to go to school Monday-Friday. I'm not an Automotive expert. Yes I was planning on lowering my vehicle in the future. But that's the future and this is the present. I am concerned for the safety of my children. He is saying I need new Shocks and Struts. Shouldn't he have notified me of this before the installation? Especially with me putting new 18" Rims and Tires on? He mentioned to me after the fact, that my Shocks where leaking. I would have never even put the Rims and Tires on if I knew that before hand. An if he knew my Shocks and Struts where bad. Wouldn't his first thought be to tell me?This is a safety issue and I should have been notified about this before the install. What if I have a blow out on the highway because my tires are hitting my fenders while my children are in the car? I'm thinking of my family and their safety. An to my standards, "this is not safe." It is also destroying my vehicle. All modifications should be checked for safety issues before, not addressed after the fact. I feel like I'm being ripped off and used to make money off of. I don't have the money for new Shocks and Struts because I'm now stuck with 18" Rims and Tires that hit my rear fenders. My vehicle is undrivable due to this issue. It is sitting in my driveway. An it doesn't matter what I wanted to do to my vehicle. That is my decision on lowering it in the future. I can get new tires later, my problem is now. I should have been informed of my Shocks and Struts before the installation. An that's that. It is not my mistake, they are the experts. It is theirs. Everyone makes mistakes, they just need to own up to it. I don't want to deal with them anymore. I want my money back and my stock Rims and Tires reinstalled. My car has barley been driven on the 18" Rims and Tires. I will go somewhere else and have it repaired. This is to stressful for me, my medical conditions and my family.Thank you,                      [redacted] P.S. An out of all things you let me drive away knowing I had my son who is disabled in his car seat in a car that was unsafe. You're lucky all you're getting is a letter and not a lawsuit.

I am rejecting this response because: Everything that was stated was not told truly. I did take my car to El Camino Tire on [redacted] twice in 2016 for a oil change, never had any complaints or problems with my car at the El Camino on [redacted]. How ever I did take my car to el camino tires on Charter Way on 12/17/2016 for another regular oil change. My engine light was not on, I had not had any problems with my car at all. Never went to El Camino complaining about any problems about my car at all. The El Camino on Charter Way never knew that I took my car to [redacted] Way El Camino until I stated it to them. I stated to el camino on charter way that I took my car to El Camino on [redacted] way twice before JUNE 2016, AND SEPTEMBER 2016 and never had a problem at all, so why all of a sudden they trying to cover up there lies.

Review: Bought a set of 18" rims and tires and they are to wide for my vehicle. They told me they where a perfect fit. Went back to explain to them they where slamming down on the rear end of my car. I asked them to replace my rims and tires to a more stock width 18" rim and tire. They refused to do so because they already put them on. They told me I have to buy a new set of rims and tires and sell the ones I bought and had installed in the first place on [redacted]. My vehicle is being damaged by the new rims and tires and I feel they are responsible for the exchange of my rims and tires to properly fit my vehicle.Desired Settlement: Replacement of my 18" rims and tires with free alignment. Done right, with proper 18" tires and rims.

Response:

My name I [redacted] store manager of El Camino tires on Wilson Way Stockton ca. and im here to respond to a current complaint a customer has. Customer Came into our shop in search of 18" wheels and tires with no specifics in mind, all him and his wife had mentioned to me was that they wanted Chrome 18" wheels and with a price range of under $1000.00 dollars. So my job as a tire and wheel dealer is to provide the best size for comfort in ride as stated on our website we reference to which is bigwheels.net we have been using this system for years and gives us the best size wheels and tires to provide a customer by getting the outer diameter as close as possible to stock size which in this case original stock size for a Mazda 6 is 205-60-16 diameter being 25.77 the 18" tire 225-45-18 outer diameter is 25.9 and the width of the wheel is 18x7.5. We have put 18" tires on Mazda 6 before and had no problems. Customer came in and told us that his car had damage cause of the wheels scraping and pointed out a dent that had rust on it already and did not look like it was due to the tires. I had [redacted] look at the software we use and showed him the specs on the selection of 18" wheels and tires it recommends everything was fine when he seen the sites recommendation. Then he had explained to me it only rubs when there is a lot of weight in the car. I then had our mechanic look at the car and he noticed the rear shocks are leaking and we did a push down test where if you can easily push a car up and down the cars shocks are worn out and is not fully absorbing shock on the road. We asked the Customer if he had ever replace the shocks since he has had it and he said no. So he asked for price on the shocks and agreed on coming back to get the job done in the future. Customer then stated that he had been wanting to lower the car and I mention to him if he had told me that in the beginning I would have provided him the Lowest profile tire in a 18" which is 225-35-18. The customer then asked then what do I do with the tires I have if I want to switch to another size so I can lower my car? I then mentioned that he can sell them on [redacted] because once I mount the tires I cant sell them. Once I explained to him and his wife that the ride of his vehicle will be alot rougher ride by lowering his car they agreed on getting the shocks changed in the future so I wrote a quote down on my business car and they said thanks for explaining everything we will be back to install the shocks. resell them because they would be considered used. Him and his wife then had came to conclusion it was best for them to replace the shocks once I explained to them how ruff the ride would be if they lower the car and go down to a smaller tire. I wrote the quote down for the shocks for them on my business card and they said thanks for the explanation and that they will come back for the shocks for their vehicle.
