Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The establishment is still not offering to accept my VALID coupon, it is within the redemption period and NOT expired We were only made aware of them refusing to accept the VALID coupons AFTER we had already dined, putting us in the position of having to pay the entire bill, which is very unfair Neither my wife nor I saw any sign on the front door upon entering the business, I was carrying our baby and she was carrying his diaper bag, the sign was simply missed Had we seen it before hand we would have never expected to use the coupon and would have left before eating I am still requesting my coupon be granted and I be refunded the value of my coupon, $11, that is all I have ever requested or expected, that is what is fair, and legal Consumers pay money for the Entertainment Book coupons, making them valid tender and restaurants legally have to accept them If this establishment still refuses to accept my VALID coupon I will be forced to seek reimbursement through a small claims civil suit through Pierce County District CourtEl Charro's business practice is very unfair and should not be accepted Please consider refunding the fair amount offered by the coupon, $

Subject: Regarding complaint ID [redacted]Dear [redacted] or whom it may concern, My name is Nancy S[redacted] and I am the manager at El Charro Mexican Grill in Sumner WA, I was also the server of Mr. [redacted]. Our restaurant had a two year agreement with Entertainment coupons, this contract was made...

back in 2013 and was told it was only going to be a two year contract. The book keeps printing out the coupons without our authorization I’ve tried calling but there is no good number I’ve emailed them, but I haven’t gotten any responses. That is besides the issue I willingly took the coupon one more year and  decided not to take it any longer because the wording in the coupon can be confusing and also some of the things in that coupon are not what we wanted on there. Mr. [redacted] came to our restaurant, but as you enter the doors there is a sign with the entertainment coupon explaining the situation and letting our customers know that we are no longer accepting it, I took the bill to the customers table and as he approached me at the front counter I tried to explain the situation of the coupon and I told him there was a sign at the front door at first he stated he didn’t see the sign, but than he said he saw it once, he became rude once I tried to explain it to him I was not rude to him nor did I flipped his bill in front of them at the counter because we have a POS system and I had the bill pulled up in front of me. In fact I never touched the bill once it was at the front counter because he was so rude and if at one point I became rude was because he was not being polite at all and he became even more impolite once I refused to take his “offer” of paying only half of the bill, why in the world would I only take half of his bill if the coupon takes off $11 dollars?? So he went to say “or you take half, or I am not paying” it wouldn’t make sense for me to take half of the bill that wasn’t reasonable, so I told him I couldn’t take half because its more than the coupon so he went on to say he wasn’t going to pay and he was going to leave, I heard his wife say “we won’t do that” but he didn’t care and walked out so I told him I was going to call the police because he’s “offer” was unreasonable and in a way an insult to our business. I called the police because he did not want to pay as I am talking to the operator I asked one of my staff to try and get the license plate of his truck, once outside trying to get his plates he gets off his truck and tries to give him $20 dollars and pulls of his shirt and shows him his concealed weapon claiming he is a “cop” himself to try and intimidate him. I understand there is a valid coupon and even though we didn’t approve of it we have to deal with it and we have not had any issues with any other customer because we are letting our customers know as soon as they walk in the door that way the customer is aware of the situation and there isn’t any conflict, I have been trying to resolve this issue with the people at Entertainment,  but I can’t seem to get any responses from them. He claims I was rude and he didn’t receive any apologies from me, but yet when he went and paid he had the courage to make a joke regarding the situation as I am taking his payment, how can I be understanding of a customer that is basically taking our business as a joke and only tries to pay half of his bill which is more than the coupon. If there is any questions contact me at [redacted] or [redacted]. Thank you

I am rejecting this response because: The establishment is still not offering to accept my VALID coupon, it is within the redemption period and NOT expired.  We were only made aware of them refusing to accept the VALID coupons AFTER we had already dined, putting us in the position of having to pay the entire bill, which is very unfair.  Neither my wife nor I saw any sign on the front door upon entering the business, I was carrying our baby and she was carrying his diaper bag, the sign was simply missed.  Had we seen it before hand we would have never expected to use the coupon and would have left before eating.  I am still requesting my coupon be granted and I be refunded the value of my coupon, $11, that is all I have ever requested or expected, that is what is fair, and legal.  Consumers pay money for the Entertainment Book coupons, making them valid tender and restaurants legally have to accept them.  If this establishment still refuses to accept my VALID coupon I will be forced to seek reimbursement through a small claims civil suit through Pierce County District Court. El Charro's business practice is very unfair and should not be accepted.  Please consider refunding the fair amount offered by the coupon, $11.
