Review: I purchased a home where the septic had to be certified before the purchase could be completed. Shawn from El Dorado septic came out and and wrote up an inspection report that said the septic was funtional. Within 30 days the main line blocked and flooded my house and the leach lines failed. When I contacted them and advised them of the situation they advised me that it was my problem I didn't certify the septic.Desired Settlement: Repair the septic system.

We can not determine why the system quit functioning properly soon after they moved in. Possibilities could be heavy water usage, many people living in the house, age of the system.

I am rejecting this response because: Two people live in the home, we have up to 60 trees on the property that are watered and do not go through the septic, the washer is bypassed and does not go through the septic, so tell me how they know how much water is going into the septic? They inspected the septic system and advised that it was in working order. They failed to do their job and find that the septic system had problems and now are trying to lie their way out of repairing it.

El Dorado Septic Service Inc. provided an inspection on this property on 5/28/15. At the time of the inspection the system passed the standard tests. As noted on the inspection report there had been issues with the inlet line for years. As noted on the inspection report, we also stated the inlet line was "flat" but flowing. Based on our records we were contacted by the homeowner on 2/25/16 stating that there was surfacing and backing up issues.On 2/26/16 we went to the property verified that there was surfacing approximately 20-30 feet below the tank and told the client we would have to come back and locate and dig up the d-box and leach field pipe. On 3/8/16 we returned to locate and dig. We found that 2 leach lines were saturated. The third line we were unable to probe due to the fact there is a shed on top of it. This is where the surfacing was coming from. We did all of this at no charge to the customer. We had received water readings for the property and they were a little high. On 3/11/16 we spoke to the homeowner and explained they were a little high and it was a possibility that more water usage and the age of the system(installed 1979) could be why it was saturated. The homeowner was upset with us and said he wants the system fixed but he is not going to pay for it. On 3/14/16 the homeowner called asking for our License number and he was going to turn us in to the Revdex.com and contractor's board. I replied ok.

I am rejecting this response because: WHY WOULD YOU CERTIFY THE 30 YEAR OLD SYSTEM WHEN YOU KNEW IT WAS GOING TO FAIL AND WHY WOULD YOU CERTIFY A SEPTIC SYSTEM WHEN YOU KNEW A LEACH LINE WAS UNDERNEATH A SHED? TWO PEOPLE LIVE IN THE HOME, AND YOU CANNOT TELL ME YOU KNOW HOW MUCH WATER IS GOING INTO THE LEACH LINE, WE HAVE 60 TREES ON THE PROPERTY THAT NEED TO BE WATERED AND THE WASHING MACHINE HAS BEEN BYPASSED AND DOES NOT GO THOUGH THE SEPTIC SYSTEM. BECAUSE OF YOUR INCOMPETENT INSPECTION, THE SYSTEM FAILED AND NOW YOU ARE TRYING TO LIE TO GET OUT OF REPAIRING IT, NO ONE SHOULD DO BUSINESS WITH YOUR COMPANY TO CERTIFY SEPTIC SYSTEMS. YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO DO SO.
