El Porton Mexican Restaurant Reviews (1)

They completely messed up our order and then the manager was very rude when I approached him about it.On Wed, July 3rd at 12:00pm I visited El Porton along with a friend. I ordered a #13 from the combo list and my friend ordered a #21. We both asked that they be "Made Special" as the sign in the menu stated (they add lettuce, tomato and sour cream for $1 extra). When our food came it was a #22 and a #19. We told them that wasn't correct and our waitress came back over. She apologized and stated that she couldn't remember what numbers we had ordered and instead of coming to ask us again she just guessed. That was mistake number 1, but I was willing to overlook that. Although I had been in before and gotten this same waitress and she misordered my food that time too. She came back 3 times to ask what numbers we ordered before finally ordering. By then we had been there for over 30 mins. We were on a 1 hour lunch break. When the food finally came out, mine did not have the lettuce, tomatoe and sour cream. And my friends was still the #22. They got hers wrong again. She ate hers because we were running out of time and was hungry. These were mistakes 2 and 3. Also my order came with a chile relleno, which turns out that only at El Porton is a sliver of a chili covered in meat and cheese. Where everywhere else I have ever ordered it is a full size chili stuffed with cheese. When I asked the hostess about it she said that they call that a Chili Poblano, but that she knows it is reveresed everywhere else I didn't want what you guys call Chili Relleno (stuffed pepper). What I got was not stuffed at all. It was like half a bite of pepper covered with meat (yuck). She offered to get me the poblano, but I refused as we were running late as it was. I was getting too upset to eat and asked for a to-go box. I boxed up my food and my tea and we got ready to leave. When the waitress brought me the ticket I realized she charged me for the #21 even though we never got it. That was the last straw and I wanted to speak to a manager. When I went to the front I saw a man sitting down talking to the hostess. At the time I had no idea it was the manager and he made no move to speak with me when he heard me telling the hostess the issue. She told me she would have to speak to the manager and she headed to the back. I noticed he followed her, but didn't think anything of it. They dissappeared for a while and then she came back. He followed her and walked straight past me even though she had pointed me out. She looked confused and I asked "is he looking for me?" He then turned around and looked annoyed that I wasn't sitting at the table. He looked at me and said "well what is wrong?" I was taken aback by his brusque attitude. I started to explain what happened when he cut me off and says "you boxed up your food so you have to pay for it." I was shocked, because I hadn't asked for free food. I was just letting him know that I was over charged. He then handed me a new receipt and said "well I fixed that." He was speaking to me like I was an annoying customer trying to pull one over on him and get free food. I didn't even know he had fixed the receipt. I just grabbed the receipt from him and said "ok whatever." He rolled his eyes and walked away. Then as I was sitting there I decided I didn't want to eat El Porton's food and I told the waitress to take off the #13. I told her I would pay for the cheese dip, the diet coke, the unsweet tea and the #22 my friend ate (even though it wasn't what she ordered). I told her to tell him he could keep his food. She dissappeared for a while then came back with a receipt for just what we actually ate/drank. So I ended up leaving angry and hungry and having to go back to work with no lunch. And the sad part is that I wouldn't have minded so much taking my food with me and paying for it if the manager hadn't been such a [redacted]. I will NEVER go back to El Porton. You may want to train your manager at that store on customer service skills. Desired SettlementI don't want anything from them. I just wanted to make them aware of the managers unacceptable behavior.
