Electric Avenue - Scooters and Service

I signed up for a motorcycle scooter basic riding course. I spoke with Mark over the phone (owner) and explained my situation. I ride a 3 wheeler bike and wanted a scooter license. I asked about details like if I needed a license to do it, he answered and said I should be good to go for the course.

I took the first day, and everything went smooth. Only 3 hours out of the 16 hour course.

The next day was the first riding day. After an hour we started the motors for the first time and the instructor told us to drive back and forth without putting our feet down. I was confused, because this was a basic course. I thought we'd be shown how to balance and whatnot.

After two exercises and realizing I was struggling, I was asked if I knew how to ride a bike. I said not a two wheel. I've only ridden 3 wheelers.

He called for a break and pulled me aside, and told me since I have never ridden a bicycle I will be "dismissed" aka I was kicked out on the spot. I was not given the info that I had to know how to ride a two wheeled bicycle until after the class started. The boss even told me I'd be ok.

After j explained the boss talked to me the instructor told me to file for a partial refund with him.

Two days later Mark emails me a copy of the form I signed that says "you forfeit your fee if you are dismissed for ANY reason." And said I will not get any money back.

I felt scammed. Not only was I out of the $200 fee, I had to miss a day of work, and buy extra boots and clothes they recommended for the class. I was also 17 miles from home with no ride in a part of town I'd never been in when they dismissed me, but they didn't care about my wellbeing. Just that they had my money.
