Review: I purchased a 52' [redacted] LCD TV 3 years ago and purchase with it a 3 Years Extended Warranty ( Total 4 Years Warranty).

On December 21st 2013 my TV started giving me problems with the screen. I called the Store and told them, they said to take the unit to the store it is still in warranty till march 2014.

After 4 weeks and me having to call every time,( I never receive a call) they said the TV cannot be repaired. And according to the warranty purchased if the unit cannot be repaired it will be replaced by the same OR Similar Unit.

What Store manager “[redacted] Is asking me to do is To purchase a new TV and they will pay half (1/2) Of the cost. And I'm sorry but I paid for a warranty Not for a "DISCOUNT COUPON". This should be replaced free of charge. They are now refusing to exchange My TV.

I will not Give them 1 Penny More than what I have already paid them. This company is a Rip OFF. They are trying to get money out of me when I have already purchased the TV and Their supposed extended warranty. Which apparently doesn’t do anything. Worst company I have ever deal with.

Now I’m with no TV and no money or replacementDesired Settlement: I want my working TV. Repair it Or replace it as stated in my warranty. .

If additional information is required please let me know and I will provide all my original documents. Receipts and warranty cards.

Hope you can help obtain a positive outcome

Hi Dear

I just want to let you know that the customer came in to the store this week, and he was taping the entire conversation between him and the manager. Our store manager [redacted] caught him and he informed that what is he doing is illegal, and we as a company can file complain against him. But we don’t want to do that, because we care about our customers. However, we are offering the customer a replacement TV [redacted] 55INC OPEN BOX, please inform this to him and have him to come and pick it up.

Thank you

Review: I purchased a [redacted] NUVI 1300 GPS unit for $82.39. It appeared to work reasonably well on many occasions, but sometimes acted oddly. It would periodically announce "Recalculating" for no apparent reason, provide updated instructions that made no sense, would Recalculate again, then provide more reasonable instructions. Sometimes it would take a LONG time to find a satellite. Without much experience with GPS units, I did not understand that the unit was not performing as I should have expected.

A family member bought the same unit a while later, and I was surprised at how much different his operated from mine.

Just prior to expiration of the warranty I went to a store in their chain (the original location had closed) to get this issue addressed.

They informed me that I needed to work directly with [redacted].

AFTER SIGNIFICANT TIME ON THE PHONE ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS WITH [redacted], THEY INFORMED ME THAT I HAD BEEN SOLD A UNIT THAT WAS NOT INTENDED FOR COMMERCIAL SALE. Electronics Expo sold me a demonstration unit, that is for display purposes only [part # 010-00782-53, Unit ID 3806025493]. All external labeling of the product look normal, as does the packaging. After numerous attempts, [redacted]'s consistent position was that I need to have this addressed by the store.

I have visited the store on several locations, and the answer is always that the people onsite can't do anything about it, that I need to come in when other people are there, etc... and that I should not expect a different answer if I come back anyway.

They don't even seem to believe/acknowledge that display units like this even exist.

The dates listed below are approximate other than the 1st instance, and I made at least one additional visit.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of the $82.39 I spent.

I've made a number of trips to the store, costing me enough in gas that it's getting quite annoying, so I'd prefer not to have to go back there again. If they want this worthless unit back, they could send me a pre-paid mailer, or send someone to pick it up.

I am rejecting this response because:

Dear [redacted]

I'm back in the U.S., and believe I now have a adequate record from [redacted] to address the request from Electronics Expo.

I tried to go in the system, but the pull-down to respond to the compaint was gone? On the 3rd you put it on hold for seven days, so I expect I am getting back to you in time.

I've attached a .bmp of the document that [redacted] generated. As you can see, it identifies the unit I have as a demo unit in several places. I've also attached the screen shot which shows my Unit ID.

Thanks,

Regards,

Hi dear

Review: [redacted] purchased a TV and an "Extended Warranty Policy" from Electronics Expo (EE). The TV stopped working shortly after and as it was covered under warranty, we returned it for repair/replacement. We provided all appropriate documentation eg. receipts, proof of purchase, warranty. What concerns me most is the lack of communication on the part of Electronic Expo.

In my review of the communication by Electronic Expo regarding the repair/replacement of [redacted] TV covered under the purchased Extended Warranty Policy, we have been more than fair with reaching out for updates, yet they haven’t been able to meet 4 deadlines which they set. The only time we hear from them is when we remind them of a missed deadline, deadlines with which they set our expectations.

I want to put this into perspective; (#1) July 21st, 2013 we dropped off the TV, at which time [redacted] stated we would hear back within 10 days, we received no communication. (#2) 17 days later on August 7th 2013, [redacted] called Electronic Expo and was told another week. (#3) 12 days later on August 19th, [redacted] called Electronic Expo again, was told a part would be coming in (invoice [redacted]), and it would again be another week. (#4) 7 days later on August 26th, [redacted] called Electronic Expo again, and was told the same story as on August 19th. (#5) August 26th, in the spirit of improving processes, I took over as the sole contact as it applies this repair/replacement of our TV by Electronic Expo. The email I sent informed Electronic Expo if I did not receive communication from Electronics Expo by noon Friday, August 30th, with a realistic status I would be moving forward with escalating this issue with the appropriate bureau.

No communication was received.Desired Settlement: My confidence in Electronics Expo is non-existent. Any work to repair the TV I have zero confidence in. I believe I will be forced to return yet again for repairs.

I request a new replacement TV of equal value.

I am rejecting this response because:

As stated in my initial complaint to Revdex.com, and in my email to you Electronics Expo(see attached), what concerns me most is the lack of communication on your part. We have been more than fair with reaching out to you for updates.

You called me on 9/2, 7 days after I sent the attached email. As this email was our 5th attempt to acquire a status update from you, I clearly stated "if I do not receive communication from Electronics Expo by noon Friday with a realistic status, and if that deadline is not met, I will move forward with escalating this issue with the appropriate bureau."

I've just now learned(via your response through Revdex.com) that the part you ordered was defective? No phone call was made to me informing me of this 'newly defective part' which was ordered, and it will take another 2 weeks?

My confidence in Electronics Expo is zero. My demand for a new TV, one which is unopened, and untouched by Electronics Expo, still stands.

I am rejecting this response because:

I know I will not get a replacement television or refund. I just think it is not right that the salesman who sold me the TV and warranty stated "its a bumper to bumper warranty" and that it would be replaceded or fixed even if "my kid hit the screen with a baseball bat" I wouldn't have wasted $250 on 2 warranties for TVs. Be honest.

Response:

Hi dear

The customer has the right to reject our response, but we as a company have to obey our company policy. If the customer provides us one proof in writing and documented that we told her the warranty is bumper to bumper I will replace her TV with a brand new one. We don’t go of what he said or she said. There are not if a single company on this universe will replace phisical damage merchandise even if the customer has purchase 10 years of warranty.

Best Regards

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:as you can see with the response, they are very obnoxious. I should have known better than to buy from them, as you can see they are closing their stores. That is a good thing so no one will have to deal with them. Of course its not in writting ,because it's not true, and shame on me for buying the warranty.

Review: I purchased headphones through Rakuten (vender was Electronics Expo) that were half off on 4/2/2014. Received an email from the company today (4/82014) saying they were out of stock and offered me a pair of headphones worth half the price and quality. I then went on there website and it showed they were in stock and available to purchase.Desired Settlement: Notification of their practices to Amazon and Rakuten.

Response:

[redacted]

just to let you know that we had emailed the customer informing him that the item is sold out, we had offered the customer three portions:

1-full refund for the product

2-we had offered if the customer would wait for the product to be back in the stock

3-we did have a Sony that was similar and was available in the stock

4-if the customer would like there is JVC that retails for $50 USD, we can also replace the item with this.

In regards the customer going to the web site and seeing the item available, due to more sales verses updating the inventory that caused the item to show available on the web site.

NOTE: after offering the customer the 4 options above he didn’t respond to our email and he went right to Revdex.com

I have the original email that I am sending as an attachment. The only options offered was a full refund or to accept an inferior product instead. I would have had no problem waiting for the product I ordered, or have an equal or better product substituted. I received a phone message from them and will contact them during business hours. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: THIS COMPLAINT IS ACTUALLY ABOUT THE ELECTRONICS EXPO ON[redacted] I BOUGHT A 60" FLAT SCREEN 1 AND 1/2 YEARS AGO AND UNFORTUNATELY IT STOPPED WORKING, I BOUGHT A WARRANTY, (IN HOUSE) AND THEY CLAIM IN HOUSE IS ONLY FOR SMALL APPLIANCES SO THEY TOOK THE TV IN TO FIX. IT ALSO SAYS IF IT CANT BE FIXED IT WILL BE REPLACED, ITS 6 WEEKS SINCE I HAVE HEARD OR SEEN MY TV. I AM WATCHING A 17" TV IN ITS PLACE. THEY TELL ME THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER BUT NO DATE, CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG.... DOESNT THAT MEAN NOT AVAILABLE IF THEY DONT KNOW WHERE THE PART IS OR WHEN IT CAN BE AVAILABLE. THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE THE TV OR HONOR THE WARRANTY. HERES THE KICKER,.... THEY ADVISED ME TO BUY A NEW ONE UNTIL MINE WAS FIXED THEN I CAN RETURN IT.... SO SHOULD I ASSUME THAT ALL THEIR TVS ARE USED?????EDesired Settlement: EITHER FIX IT OR REPLACE IT!!!

Review: I bought a klipsch hdt600 home theater system from them. Was told it was a floor model. Which was a lie. They had shipped this product to someone else...it still has part of the shipping label from the last person. They sold it to me as a open box floor item...was told it never left the store. I got it shipped to me when I purchsed it. I open it all up and set it all up and to my surprise. Two of the speakers are blown. I called them and they told me to contact Klipsch which is the manufacturer. They basically told me im stuck with it...... I believe eletronics expo should reimburse me what it cost to replace the speakers or send me a whole new system.. The only place I saw you could replace them and that was on ebay @ $150.00. Dont know what else to do. Do believe they knew something was wrong with them.Desired Settlement: I would like them to either replace the whole unit or give me the $150.00 to replace the 2 blown ones.

Business

Response:

Dear Revdex.com

Just to inform you that this was over the phone sale , when the customer called back with the issue our sales person offered to take the product back and give him a full refund since we didn’t have another speaker to replace it. The customer asked the sales person if there is another option and he told him to call Klipsh. Therefore, the customer decided to call Klipsh.

We are willing to refund him the $150.00, please advise

Review: I purchased a [redacted] 55" Television on May 2, 2011 for $2200.00 I also purchased a four year warranty contract for an additional $389.99. The television broke on November 6, 2014 and was removed from my home on November 19, 2014 for repair. It was returned on December 22, 2014 working properly. After one week (December 31, 2014) the same issue occurred on the television. I informed [redacted] (Supervisior) of Electronic Expo (phone # [redacted]) on January 2, 2015 that the television is not working properly. He informed me that he would have to speak to his technician and that the television was again going to have to be removed from my home and checked. Since I have a warranty, and the same issue is wrong with the television, I feel that I should be given a new television.Desired Settlement: Since I bought the extended warranty, I feel I should be given a new television comparable to the defective one.

Review: on 12.12.2009 I bought a 55 inch [redacted] TV model:[redacted] from one of ELECTRONICS EXPO stores located in[redacted] ,nj (by the way most of there stores went out of business including the one I just mentioned.they have only one location that still open in new jersey.the one in [redacted]). I paid 1,393.00 dollars for the tv,and I paid 199.99 dollars for a 3 year extended warranty wich gonna expire on 12. 12.2013 (i have all my documents).the first time the tv broke on january 16.2013 NO PICTURE,I called the service dept, they showed up one week later, they checked the tv and said they will be back within 1 to 2 weeks with the part to fix it.they came back on 02.29.13 with the part and fixed the tv. on 07.10.13 the tv broke again for the second time NO PICTURE I called again, they showed up a week later .this time they came an took the tv with them.2 weeks later they came back with my tv and said now the tv is good. 8 weeks later ,the tv broke again for the third time .this time the sound becomes extremely distorted with a weird echo effect, I searched the internet for reviews on this tv and I found out that this is a cummon problem with the [redacted] line of tvs . again I called the service dept for the third time about the problem. now for weeks they keep telling me that they trying to locate the part they need to fix the tv and they still cant find it ,and they told me I just have to wait. dealing with this company is a nightmare thats why all there stores went out of business. my extended warranty clearly states if they cant fix the tv they must replace it.I bought the extended warranty for a peace of mind, but I guess I bought it from the wrong store. I have rights as a consumer and also under the service contract and the extended warranty I purchased from ELECTRONICS EXPO and they must honor that, and change there bad business practices.my extended warranty is gonna expire on 12.12.2013 and if I keep waiting for this part to show up iam gonna loose 1,704.50 dollars.Desired Settlement: they must replace this tv.they fix it twice alrady .now the tv is bad again for the third time.they need to honor the extended warranty that I purchased.
