Elegant Car Rental

I rented a car from these guys after having my car towed by another company who deals with themThey came on site at the accident into the night to drop off the car for me - they do advertise complimentary local drop off and pick up on their business cardI thought AWESOME service! That is until I had to return the carAfter resolving the claim with my insurance I called to return the rental and was told they don't do pick up on weekends but that I could drop the car off at their location in Brampton myself, which I did early Saturday morning after renting it for a whole monthThese guys not only did not come to pick up the car from me because "they are closed on the weekend" but after dropping it off myself (25km from my home) they tried to CHARGE ME for the whole weekend "because they are normally closed until Monday"Coincidentally there was someone there on Saturday to sign the car in at 9:30AM yet they still want to charge an extra day for SaturdayWhen the car was brought to me at 10PM on the site of the accident they were also closed yet they had no problem coming out all the way to Port Credit in Mississauga to get my businessLuckily my insurance understood and agreed to cover the extra day of rental or else I would have had to pay out of pocketI would NEVER use them again as they tried to take advantage of me and the insurance company who gave them full month of business over fees for one extra day on which the car was returned before 10AM Having said this the car was in good condition, pretty new and above average overallHad it not been for the bad service I would rent from them againThey also worked with my insurance on the daily rate so that I wouldn't be switched over to a cheaper companyThe awful treatment I got at the end totally eclipsed the rest of this experienceNot recommended! Also [redacted] read before you sign when they bring the car to youThere is a clause in there saying you have to pay $if "you decide not to keep the rental"They make it sound like this is something that is rare and refers to if you choose not to take the rental because you want to rent somewhere elseWell what this means is that if they cannot reach an agreement on a daily rate with the insurance or the insurance for any reason does not cover rental for you (some policies do not have rental coverage) then YOU HAVE TO PAY $bucks out of pocket to these guysSo even if the next day you are told by your insurance to return the car you don't just pay one day rental fee yourself but pay $to these guysSeems to me like they would not budge or be understanding on this since they were so adamant on an extra one day fee in my case - also other reviewers have mentioned thisCall your insurance first, have them discuss with the company before you go ahead and sign anything
