Elegant Concrete Solutions Reviews (%countItem)

They came out on 8/10/18 to resurface my pool deck . We paid them in cash and a month after the job was finished we had a crack form in a area . We contacted the owner several different times and he would never return our phone calls when we finally got a hold of him he said that we were disrespectful and that he could not help us even though he gives a five year guarantee I would not use this company ever again.

Contractor failed to complete job as agreed. Contractor failed to fix damages resulting from his work.
On 11/7/17, I hired Elegant Concrete Solutions to remove existing pool deck tiles, and replace with a stained concrete resurface.

The contractor was paid in three payments totaling $5,000.00

The contractor covered the pool with the customers plastic pool cover, however did not secure the edges to minimize any debris falling into the pool.

As a result of the demolition, the contractor allowed numerous amounts of sharp concrete, and tile debris to fall into the pool.

The customer advised the contractor to remove the cover from the pool to begin immediate clean up of the interior of the pool to avoid problems with the pool.

The contractor advised the customer that he would keep the pool cover on until the job was complete, and the contractor would pay for the pool to be professionally cleaned.

The contractor then began to resurface the pool deck. As a result of the demo, an area under the door jam of one of the customers french doors was damaged. The concrete was broken out, and the metal lip on the frame of the door was bent.

The contractor was told that he would need to fix the damage. The contractor attempted to fill the 3 inch crack with a stucco based material and not the required concrete.

The contractor also failed to cut expansion joints into the concrete as discussed during the initial quote.

When the contractor resurfaced the pool deck, he failed to lay the resurfacing material consistently around all surfaces of the pool; leaving gaps around the pool coping, and areas that connected to the structure of the residence.

In addition the contractor laid a small area of concrete prior to the resurfacing. This new area of concrete was not properly graded which allows for water to settle in certain areas.

The contractor used multiple paint colors to create a stone appearance on the resurface. The contractor failed to properly seal the surfaced area, and now the paint has faded, and deteriorated in multiple areas around the entire pool deck area.

Concrete stains were left on the pool deck stairs, and splashes of concrete can be seen on the exterior residential walls.

The contractor continued to keep the pool cover on for approximately one month even after he was advised that the water in the pool was turning green.

The customer removed the cover to find a hazardous green pool filled with mosquito larvae.

The contractor did send 3 separate companies to clean the pool, however all rejected the job because the pool interior is a vinyl liner. The concern is that the sharp debris in the pool from the demolition would cause a tear in the liner requiring the installation of a new liner. I was also told that the pool could not be drained at risk of the pool walls collapsing due to the change in pressure.

It was discovered that the pool turned green because multiple debris from the demolition entered, and clogged the underground pool lines not allowing for the water to circulate.

The customer hired 2 separate companies to blow the debris out of the lines to allow proper flow, and allow the pool water to begin to circulate and clear out.

The contractor was advised of this damage and told the customer that he would pay for the repairs.

On 1/2/18, the customer again contacted the contractor to advise that there were obvious stress cracks forming around the pool deck.

Photos were provided to the contractor who then advised the customer that he could not stop the cracks from happening, and that the cracks "did not look that bad."

Despite multiple voice messages, and text messages since the listed date, the contractor is no longer responding to the customers inquires.

The pool remains dirty with sharp shards of debris, and algae that has settled at the bottom of the pool.

The damages, and required completion has not be completed by the contractor.

The job which was scheduled to take 10 days has now resulted in a 60 day project that is not complete.

There is a 5 year agreed upon warranty for these services.

Desired Outcome

The customer is requesting a full refund in the amount of $5,000.00. The refund is needed to assist with payment of hiring new contractors to fix the described damages. -Placement of expansion joints around the deck, and resurfacing to these areas. -Adding surface to properly grade water drainage. -Removal of existing holes in the deck that need to be filed. -Scratching, and resurfacing all areas that were not completed. -Repeated texture, paint, and sealing will need to be redone on the entire surface of the deck after concrete repairs have been made. -Replacement of metal around the bottom of the french doors prior to completion of the resurface, and sealant. -Painting of areas on exterior of residence structure where concrete stains can be seen. -Complete cleaning of pool that may result in a much larger repair and the pool may need to be drained with risk of structural damage and advised by 3 professional pool cleaning companies. -The refund will also assist in helping the customers additional expenses of approximately $1,000.00 to attempt to clear out pool. -A landscaping service needs to be hired to remove numerous amounts of debris that remain within the grass area that surrounds the pool deck. The described repairs, and existing additional costs will well exceed the cost of the payment of $5,000.00 that the contractor was paid in full. The customer will not ask for any additional fees that exceed the $5,000.00 if the contractor agrees to full reimbursement. The contractor is a licensed, and bonded business. The customer has an expectation to hold the contractor accountable. Given all the described damages, the customer has no choice to have the entire job redone to repair damages caused by the contractor, and complete the services the contractor was hired for.
