I will address Mrs***s assertions one at a time as well. When I gave Mrs [redacted] the original proposal it included everything that needed to be done to the house Upon closing on the property Mrs [redacted] informed me that the budget had decreased substantially We began the process of selecting the project I would handle and agreed on a price for those projects only I NEVER agreed to do the original project for the lesser price. As far as the time frame is concerned I addressed that in my first response Additional flooring was contracted which added to the time frame. In referring to work outside the scope of work, Mrs [redacted] asked for that almost on a daily basis This is why, in my original response, I stated that I had to start telling her that that work is not on the contract. As far as my knowledge about load bearing walls I fully understand the premise behind it This house had been added on to more than once and was very difficult to tell if it was or wasn't a load bearing wall As far as the flooring is concerned, I addressed that in my first response Mrs [redacted] most certainly picked her flooring out because she went to Floor & Decor and brought it back to me I verbally reminded them that we had agreed that they would be responsible for all trim inside the house As far as the flooring coming up in places, I sent my flooring contractor to the house as promised ans he was turned away by Mr*** All of the flooring was in perfect condition when it was covered with billing paper The ***s started their construction project afterwards and damaged the floor. As far as the countertops are concerned, this is news to me They were in perfect condition when I completed the project.I contracted to do the work for Mrs [redacted] and completed the work in a substantial and workmanlike manner I have attempted to address the concerns she has and have been met with threats and stonewalling of my contractors I have hundreds of happy and satisfied clients that will attest to the quality of my workmanship

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Although I have not heard back from the owner of Elegant Interiors of DFW, I have decided to forgive him for his actions I consider that the matter of complaint [redacted] is resolved and I do not want to continue being bitter Rather I want to forgive him and bless him so that his future dealings with customers be blessed Regards, [redacted]

Mr [redacted] never signed any contract with me or Mr [redacted] for an amount that was reduced after the fact He was given a budget, he accepted it He signed a contract for that price He accepted a job for x dollar amount Period.Regarding the time frame as a result of the flooring installation Not true That took about two days, due to him not obtaining any permits prior to the job Mr [redacted] took care of that for him.Not going to squabble over requests for extra work Plain and simple, he is a liar Again, the flooring was not my choice It was recommended emphatically by Mr [redacted] I gave him my trust for that (my mistake) He did not install the flooring to the scope of the job, which was separate from the original contract He was paid over 5k additional for that installation He refuses to give a receipt or warranty for the floors We only agreed to do window trim and to replace the trim he had ripped out This did not include the quarter round that customarily comes with a flooring quote Which is to be placed in front of the wall trim to hide cuts The ***'s did no damage to the floors after the fact They were not in perfect condition when he left the job, Mr [redacted] did not prep the floors properly, resulting in this issue at hand, then, He hid them with paper. We did not go throughout throwing glue around, we did not cut edged at angles or shorter than pieces next to it, we did not add all the nails going across the room and we did not beat the floor to add hazardous soft spots.Mr [redacted] did not fix the soft spots under the new flooring A major safety issue We will have to have it redone He assured us it would be fixed No one was ever turned away He sent the floor installer back out, no one else was sent back, Mr [redacted] has refused address anything. There are multiple pictures in my previous post showing his horrific workmanship I would be happy to add more

To whom it may concern,I am responding to the stated claim of *** ***,I contracted to do a partial renovation of the investment property purchased by Mrs***. We originally started with a budget of $32,000, but their loan didn't provide the funds necessary to perform that scope of
work. When I contracted for the job at $12,the scope of work had changed and the ***s were going to do the finish work on the projectsI We agreed at contract that I would break off from time to time to work on other projects Throughout the project Mrs*** attempted to get me to do work that was not on the contract. I did some but finally had to tell her I couldn't continue to do it. At this point Mrs*** became uncooperative and started demanding that I perform work on the project that wasn't contracted. As for the specific complaint regarding the floor:I informed Mrs*** that the existing floor was warped and buckled in places and had soft spots below the sub floorMrs*** selected her flooring materials and is responsible for that choiceMrs*** was responsible for the finish work including shoe moulding and trim workThe floor was in excellent condition when we covered if with construction grade billing paper to protect itMrs*** and her husband proceeded to perform the finish work and subsequently damaged the floorI offered to send my flooring contractor up there last Thursday to help out and the ***s rejected him when he arrivedI have done everything I can do to satisfy the ***s. All work was performed above industry standards

I will be addressing Mr. [redacted]'s response on an individual basis. At first meeting with Mr. [redacted] we gave him an estimated budget, pending the choice of loan we decided on (commercial vs. personal).  Upon closing I gave [redacted] the new budget amount.  He phoned two days later saying he could do the scope of work within the budget.  He took the job.  Dollar amount doesn't [redacted]er, he agreed on a price.Time frame was to be three weeks, per Mr. [redacted].  We asked if he was sure, he replied with a yes, we proceeded forward.  He informed us he needed 2-3 days to complete a job in Dallas.  We had no problem with that.  We were under the impression a crew would be brought in to knock it out.  [redacted] came in with one worker, did demo, was gone for a week.  After that he would drop off one worker.  Then another week gone, then back to one worker.  The three week deadline was not met.  He was in the house seven weeks.Work outside the scope of the contract was never attempted.  We actually scaled back a few things after the original agreement.[redacted] tore down the wall we wanted removed, only to tell us it had to stay.  It was a major load bearing wall.  He should have known that prior to ripping off the sheetrock.  To utilize that demo work I suggested a niche for t.v. space and a couple of built-in shelves.  This idea created a bit more space, less work and required less material.  Regarding the flooring: THE BIGGEST DEAL HERE! Original plan...save the hard wood.  Patch it (provided by [redacted]), sand, stain, seal (done by homeowner).  [redacted] then said there was too much patching to be done.  He suggested carrying out the same flooring throughout the house.  Note here, I did not pick out this flooring.  It was recommended by [redacted] (our contractor).  He said it was durable, had the wood look and being used by all the department stores now.  I trusted his opinion, he was my contractor.  Before any flooring went down I pointed out a few soft spots in the sub-floor.  [redacted] said he would take care of it.  He did not!  He put the vinyl material over the soft spots without repair.  Now a safety issue. This particular type of flooring is glued down.  I was concerned about this, but [redacted] assured me it would be the best choice.  I noticed the flooring was not adhering in some areas as it was being installed.  [redacted] assured me it would all settle and be secure.  [redacted] covered the floors with paper, he said, to protect them from the paint.  Upon removing the paper it was revealed that glue spots were all over the floor.  Once we cleaned the glue we noticed that a nail gun had been used across the vinyl planks attempting to hold them down.  The flooring was an additional 5,400.00.  However, [redacted] would not, and still has not, provided us with the receipt and warranty.  Even after multiple requests.  Again, I did not choose this flooring, it was highly recommended by [redacted] (being the contractor I trusted his opinion.  I picked the color upon his request.  All flooring quotes/jobs come with the quarter round included.  [redacted] did not install it.  We never agreed to do that ourselves.  THIS FLOORING IS COMING UP EVERYWHERE!The flooring contractor did return.  Mr. [redacted] was there when he arrived.  He was NOT turned away.  The flooring contractor was apologetic.  He told Mr. [redacted] that he advised [redacted] the flooring would not stay down without sanding or adding sub-flooring.  [redacted] told him to install it the way he wanted.  The flooring contractor was going to add quarter round, which is standard.  [redacted] told him not to, that he was going to install it.  He ([redacted]) never did.  Flooring contractor gave Mr. [redacted] his card in the case we needed anything further.  Refer to the posted pictures, that is beyond sub-par workmanship, NOT damage after the fact.  After meeting with the flooring contractor Mr. [redacted] sent [redacted] another text requesting the receipt and warranty.  his response was "NO.  Not until you remove the black mark on me from the Revdex.com".The counter tops have gouges, nicks and scoring marks all along the sides and edges.  Mr. [redacted] was also contracted to scrape and retexture popcorn ceilings.  He did.  It is falling apart.  [redacted] mudded the bathroom walls, added no texturing.  When asked about it he said it was "cake icing" texture, we never discussed/agreed on that.  The contract states he would match texture to existing walls.  We now have crows feet, orange peel and stucco in a 1960's home.  Mr. [redacted]'s contract stated that he guarantees his work for one year, however, he will not address any of these issues.

Mr. [redacted] never signed any contract with me or Mr. [redacted] for an amount that was reduced after the fact.  He was given a budget, he accepted it.  He signed a contract for that price.   He accepted a job for x dollar amount.  Period.Regarding the time frame as a result of the flooring installation.  Not true.  That took about two days, due to him not obtaining any permits prior to the job.  Mr. [redacted] took care of that for him.Not going to squabble over requests for extra work.  Plain and simple, he is a liar.    Again, the flooring was not my choice.  It was recommended emphatically by Mr. [redacted].  I gave him my trust for that (my mistake).  He did not install the flooring to the scope of the job, which was separate from the original contract.  He was paid over 5k additional for that installation.  He refuses to give a receipt or warranty for the floors.  We only agreed to do window trim and to replace the trim he had ripped out.  This did not include the quarter round that customarily comes with a flooring quote.  Which is to be placed in front of the wall trim to hide cuts.  The [redacted]'s did no damage to the floors after the fact.  They were not in perfect condition when he left the job, Mr. [redacted] did not prep the floors properly, resulting in this issue at hand, then, He hid them with paper. We did not go throughout throwing glue around, we did not cut edged at angles or shorter than pieces next to it, we did not add all the nails going across the room and we did not beat the floor to add hazardous soft spots.Mr. [redacted] did not fix the soft spots under the new flooring.  A major safety issue.  We will have to have it redone.  He assured us it would be fixed.  No one was ever turned away.  He sent the floor installer back out, no one else was sent back,  Mr. [redacted]  has refused address anything. There are multiple pictures in my previous post showing his horrific workmanship.  I would be happy to add more.
