Elevate Fitness

I went today to cancel my membership and was informed that I had to give 30 day notice, which seems quite excessive in general but in addition doesn't seem to conform with the new regulations as I am now 26 miles away from the gym.
Charges aren't being prorated, making my cancellation period 45 days instead of 30 as I am being charged for a full month in January. Really anyone who would cancel just a day after their billing would effectively have an almost 60 day cancellation period.

I was also charged an annual membership fee that again isn't being prorated. That charge was also just put through with no notification. Upon inquiring I was told that's just how it's always been. Membership fees go through within 60 days of the renewal for the following 12 months. 11 months of those I won't be using.

Gold's Gym is now Elevate Fitness. I never signed a contract with them. When asked about why I am canceling, the person taking my request didn't listen and I didn't even have a chance to say that I also moved.
