Mrs. [redacted],It is too bad that you did not contact our office so thissituation could be easily handled.  The amount stilldue on your daughters' assessment account is $31.00.By stopping your charge payment of $210 (last paymentdue for her assessment) it caused a negative balance of$31.00 for...

the actual charges spent for your daughter.  Hadthat payment remained, it would have covered the $31 due andthe balance would have been returned.  Your account was notcharged at any time for the Elevate Gym Fest Meet that shedid not participate in. Also,  I am of the understanding, that [redacted] has accepted the points worked to date as yourfull requirement completed.  Please forward the $31.00 andwe will be able to close your account.Elevate Gymnastics Academy Management.

Elevate Gymnastics, formerly Byers, is a terribly run & disorganized facility. All the owner [redacted] cares about is $$$$. She treats her employees like crap in front of customers by demeaning them. She threatens people acting like she's better than everyone & knows "everyone" in the gymnastics community. People don't stand up to her because they're scared!!!she looses gymnasts because of her attitude, threatening demeanor, her inexperienced coaches & terrible front desk persons. She should be ashamed of how people are treated!!!

Review: I notified the organization on 11/30/15 via telephone that our child would no longer be attending gymnastics. A week or two prior to calling my husband spoke to the front desk to inquire what the policy was to remove a gymnast from a class. My husband was told to contact the office before the first of the month. When I called on 11/30/15 my daughter was removed, but during the call I was advised that the policy for team gymnasts is 30 days. I advised the caller on the phone that my husband was told something different and I would like to speak to a manager. I was told the manager would be available to speak to me the next day. I received a call from a manager ([redacted]) a day or two later and was advised that a 30 day notice is required, but that would be waived since we were told incorrect information. When I inquired about a refund of our child’s assessment fees for the competition she would not be competing in and any fees related to that competition I was told that refunds are calculated after parent participation points are calculated. Team parents are required to complete 180 parent participation points or pay $6.00 per point for any points not received. The organization has 5 event opportunities in a season to sign up for parent points. Each event is 2 days and there are multiple jobs to do and each has a different point value the most being 30 and the least being 25. Each family can only sign up for one job per week that the event is posted. At the time I spoke to [redacted] in December I was sure we would meet our parent participation points because I would sign up for 3 jobs per week. However, two months later I was scolded for doing that. At that point I looked into the situation further and realized there are not enough jobs available at all 5 events for all the families on team to sign up and not be required to pay a fee. At that time I felt like my refund was being dangled in my face like a carrot and I was being bullied into working for an organization and my child was no longer competing at the gym. I contacted my credit card company and disputed the last assessment fee that was charged for $210.00. I received a call from the organization 3 weeks later and was told that they would be fighting the chargeback by [redacted]. I spoke to my credit card company and was advised my credit was permanent. I won the dispute. Now the organization is sending me an invoice for $210.00 and wrote a note on the bill that if I do not pay the remaining assessment fees I will be sent to collections. According to the assessment fee schedule and the competition schedule the season is 2015 – 2016. We left the gym on 11/30/15 and there was one more competition on 3/4/2016. I feel we gave enough notice to have the entry fee for that competition refunded to us. The entry fee for a competition is roughly $100. Additionally, I don’t feel we should pay the entire assessment when we didn’t stay the entire season. [redacted] told me the season ends in November at the State Competition, but I have noticed that this information is not stated in detail in any of the information I received from the organization. In the parent hand book it mentions if a gymnast leaves during the season the parent participation points will be pro-rated. So, I feel that [redacted] should have pro-rated our parent participation points based on our notice that we were leaving as of 11/30/2016. Threatening to send me to collections for $210.00 is upsetting when I don’t feel like I owe any additional money to the organization. Additionally, I recall signing an agreement to charge my credit card automatically for my child’s monthly fees to attend class. These fees are separate from the assessment fees. I don’t recall signing any other agreements.Desired Settlement: I want the threat of sending me to collections removed. I want the account I hold with the company to be brought to zero and I want no further contact from the company.
