Eli Relocation Reviews (25)

Marie,I do not believe that $350 is a sufficient amount to cover the damages and the terrible service I was provided. The driver who picked up my items and the driver who delivered my items were both very rude and lazy. The driver in Arizona was giving me a hard time about my items and the amount that he had to move, even though most of the items were already clearly documented and he should have been expecting them. He hardly moved anything himself and just spent most of his time standing around in my living room. He also tried to bully me into going with the weight that he estimated, so he wouldn't have to take it to a scale.I had to wait over a month for my items, which is definitely not the ASAP I was promised. When my items did arrive, I had to wait 45 minutes before they even moved in a single item. I also had to personally unwrap the furniture pads off of my items and I even folded them up for the guys. They wouldn't put my TVs on the TV stands, so I had to life them myself. They also would not even attempt to move my sofa into my apartment and just left it on the landing. The driver, Leon, did a terrible job at assembling one of the beds, so I would not let him try to put together the other one. I ended up having to assemble both of the beds myself because he failed to put together the first one correctly. I had to move both mattresses, one Queen and one California King, into the rooms and put them on the frames by myself. Leon also laughed at me regarding my damaged furniture and yelled at me on several occasions. When it came time for me to sign the final paperwork, he just threw it on the table and pointed, as he carried on with his personal phone call in another language that I can't identify.Eli Relocation does not provide clear documentation regarding the breakdown of the charges, but I've attached a few documents of what I do have. The driver, Leon, instructed me to document the damages on the paperwork and told me that I would be contacted regarding payment for the items. I know the copies are not very clear, but that is all I have. Each document had several copied pages to it and they kept the originals.Damaged Items:Dresser = was damaged on the bottom, so it was not longer functional. The dresser could no longer sit flat and leaned forward, which opened all of the drawers.Bed Frame = the bed frame was scratched in several areas and there are also big gashes and chunks of wood missing.Stationary Bike = Scratched and the screws from the monitor were stripped. They also didn't deliver an office chair, but they came back the next day to drop that off.I paid a total of $2586.69 to Eli Relocation and the damaged items alone are probably worth more than the $350 they offered me. This is the worst service I have ever had in my life and I believe I should get more of my money back. I requested about half of what I paid, but I don't really feel like this company even deserves that much money. I don't think that any company has the right to yell at a customer, not provide their items in a timely manner, and refuse to move their items, especially after they have already been paid for their services. This was one of the worst experiences that I have ever had to go through and definitely the worse service. I believe that they should have to pay me more than $350 for everything that I had to deal with. Please let me know if you need anything else from me.Thank you,[redacted]

This complaint has not been filed by a customer, but insteadby a customers’ fiancé. The complainant in this case is not included on theorder for service, signed contract and was not present at the move. While we dounderstand that moving is stressful, it is our policy to accept only cash orpost...

office money order at delivery unless another form of payment ispre-approved at the time of booking. This policy is clearly stated in the order for servicereceived by the customer prior to the move, the bill of lading signed by thecustomer at the move (see attached doc) , as well as various communications viaphone and email (see attached doc).  The customer has received two refunds, one for $200 to makeup for the email discrepancy of the balance required for delivery, as well as a$300 deposit at the time of delivery to make up for the inconvenience of payingin cash or post office money order. The customer accepted these two refunds, and even sent me an email thanking me for my assistance with this issue (seeattached doc). We have done our best to ensure the satisfaction of thecustomer and do hope this issue to be settled.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. My complaint filed to the Revdex.com is in regards to the deceptive practices that this company partakes in.  This company did not respond responsibly to any one of my attempts to resolve the issues they created until I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com and a dispute with my credit card company.  To hide behind the fact they cannot resolve this matter due to an open dispute is shameful.  I called a dozen times over a two week span and they opted to not return my calls as [redacted] had promised he would. Furthermore, there was ample research done on my move, I was quoted by 6-10 different providers and I opted to go with Eli Relocation because of [redacted]t's assurances the items would be delivered on time.  I cannot express enough that THEY SET THE TIME LINE, ALL OF MY ITEMS WERE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP FROM THE DAY I FIRST GOT MY QUOTE FROM [redacted] IN MID MAY.  The only requirements I had is that my items arrived between 6/15 and 6/29 (6/15 being the day we closed on the home and 6/29 being the day we would arrive in MA). The rebuttal from the company states I should have paid for additional cost of having a guaranteed delivery time… In the pricing quote they sent me the “delivery timeline of 3-14 days” was presented to me as no additional charge which is why it shows as $0.01 in the itemization of costs BECAUSE [redacted] SET THE TIMELINE. If this company needs 21 days to ship something then why did they not just pick up the items on 6/01-6/10? My shipment was ready to go, everything was boxed and ready for shipment, we were renting a fully furnished home.  This was presented at no additional charge just as the line item above for 30 Days of free storage and the line item below for professional packing of my 2 TV’s and mirror.I apologize for not including “in retrospect” when I brought up my huge red flag point.  But so we can discuss this, I have also enclosed the e-mail that I sent to [redacted] addressing the concerns about the 21 day delivery time clause that prompted her to call me.  I believe it is clear that I did my research and chose based on the rapport I had with a company that initially made me feel comfortable trusting for my cross country relocation.  The fact that I addressed this EXACT concern and was promptly called by my sales rep is a clear indication that your sales reps will say what they need to say (also known as LIE) if need be to get the sale.  This is a clear indication that this company partakes in deceptive practices. If I were to bring up this issue and have her tell me ANYTHING OTHER than my stuff was guaranteed to arrive on time, why would I book the move?  I was moving with a three month old baby, I had no options if my items arrived late which has been the crux of my issue with Eli Relocation.  They set the timeline and blew past it, they had the opportunity to resolve this issue with me outside of this process and opted to not return my multiple contact requests, every issue on this move has been self-inflicted by their management and other consumers need to be aware that this is not a reputable company. If this company wants to seriously engage in a resolution I will consider dropping my credit card dispute but not until I have IN WRITING that they will refund me 30% of my moving cost.  They cannot be trusted.  I have been lied to multiple times by their staff, as I have clearly shown.
Regards,
[redacted]
