October 12, 2017Dear [redacted] :The [redacted] was presented to us for PA State InspectionA licensed PA inspection technician performed the inspection indicating that it failed inspection due to items listed on repair order # [redacted] and the comprehensive inspection report (see attached)An estimate for the State Inspection repairs was given to the person with the vehicle and he declined having these repairs done. Our facility does use a computer based program for our point of sale and also for our technicians to do a complete and thorough check of all vehicles regardless of why the vehicle is hereWe believe that it is our responsibility to inform our customers as to the condition of their vehicles along with educating them so that they may make an informed decisionThe system that the technicians use is called [redacted] It is becoming an industry standard to have such a program and several other facilities in the area are using them as wellWe believe that by having the ability to show our customer’s actual pictures of their vehicle helps them to understand what we see and certainly helps build trust that we aren’t trying to sell them something that they don’t needThe program also has a description of what certain components are and their functionAgain, helping to educate them about their vehiclesThere are even video links attached when the report is emailed to further explain things. The program allows us to categorize things that we seeThe categories that we have are: Good, Requires Immediate Attention, Requires Future Attention, Service Due by Time or Mileage, Monitor and a section that is specific for vehicles that are presented for PA State Inspection so that we make sure we are following the state laws for inspectionBy having the different categories we are able to help prioritize repairs and maintenance for our customers and hopefully avoid costly repairs in the future by addressing items before they become a major problem. The following are the items that were marked as “Requires Immediate Attention":Oil Change Sticker: The sticker on the vehicle indicated that the oil change was dueWhen the oil change is due or overdue we indicate it needing immediate attention

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Turns out the the software Mike's Kars uses can access recalls and service bulletinsImagine a world in which the garage would send customers to the dealership to have serious problems fixed for free.Regards,
*** ***

October 27, 2017Dear ***:I am very sorry that this person continues to be upset about this situationIt was not our intent to upset or anger himI truly apologize that the inspection took hours and we offended him.We have already taken several steps to modify our process:1) We have changed the verbiage on our inspection formThe change is from “Requires immediate Attention” to “Immediate Attention Recommended”.2) We have had several staff meetings with the technicians to clarify what constitutes recommending something for immediate attentionThis subject will continue to be reviewed on a regular basis.3) We are developing a plan to educate and train our staff on how to handle customers if they are upset in an effort to resolve issues in-house.I am also enclosing a check payable to this person to refund him the State Inspection feePlease forward it along with our sincere apology.Sincerely,Shelle B

July 25, 2016Dear ***,Thank you for contacting me regarding the above referenced complaintI understand that you were contacted in order to resolve this complaint outside the legal systemUnfortunately the party that initiated this complaint "stopped payment" on their check and therefore it
will now be going to the local District Magistrate to be resolved as a civil complaint. The party that initiated the complaint was contacted after we had the opportunity to inspect the vehicle for a PA Safety inspectionShe was given information on what was required by the State of Pennsylvania to pass inspection along with some maintenance items that our technician recommendedThe state inspection items were approved by the person filing this complaint on 7:11/at 11:a.mThe only item that was not a state inspection item but approved was charging the battery and retesting it to see if it needed replacedAll other maintenance items were declined and not performed on the vehicleTwo other family members were informed of the state inspection repairs prior to the repairs being done and approved them on 7/11/16.If you require any additional information regarding this complaint I would be more than happy to provide whatever you need for your records.Sincerely,Shelie B.Office Manager
