Elijah Bell’s Funeral Services were used for the Final arrangements of our beloved family member. The immediate family met with the administrative staff to discuss the services and cost, yet while surrendering the insurance policy. Much effort was put into working on the program, getting the venue for the repast, reaching out to family that was traveling from afar, and finding a church large enough for this extremely large family. The untimely death was just before a major holiday, so that pushed the time to after the holiday for the service. Low and behold on the day before the wake, which was Thursday the funeral home call to tell the family that the funeral is going to have to be postponed due to the insurance policy had not paid as of yet. There was some small technicality that needed to be resolved. What is the family suppose to? At this point with people arriving from out of town, what do you tell them? Bell’s Funeral Home advised the family to apply for a loan from a company they refer clients to. No compassion at all, wants their money on Friday morning or no funeral. (People are in an extreme emotional state and are mourning the loss of their loved one) Thank God that a family member paid the bill in full and waited to get reimbursed from the funeral home after the insurance paid. Well it took 1 month to get the money back from Bell’s funeral home and they took a fee of $218.00 from the check. The funding did not come from a Funding Company. We had to keep calling their office weekly to find out the status of the check. When it comes to your refund there is no sense of urgency regarding the customer. Where is the compassion that should be displayed to a family in their time of grief? This was not done in a professional nor compassionate manner. Someone should put them on BLAST, Help Me Howard. This company will not be utilized by any of our family members, nor by any and all we know.
