Yes, I have talked to our agent about the garage door opener. Several weeks ago I received a phone call from a women who started ranting about something on her property, I asked to calm down so I could understand what the problem was at her home. She informed me that our agent,
*** *** had shown her property the day before and when she arrived home she could not get the garage door to open. *** informed me that when she and her clients went out to the garage they pushed the button to open the door, the door was locked and would not go up but a few inches and then it closedThey decided to just leave it along as they did not want to cause any damage. The owner then went on to say she could not believe anyone would do such a thing to her garage door. This is what anyone would do, try to open the door to see how well the door worked and to be able to see the inside of the garageIf she did not want the door to be opened then there should have instruction to the same or the door should have not been locked I asked her what type of damage may have been done to the door and she said I do not know, my husband will have to check it out. I then said to her to let us know if there was any damage to the opener and what the charges would be to repair the opener. I also informed her that this was something she should take up with her Realtor, not us as we were only the agent for the buyer
At no point was I EXTREMELY rude to the owner and was willing to work out the problem, however, this is something that should be handled between the Listing Realtor and Selling Realtor. Our company has been in business since and have worked with hundreds of clients and we feel that we try to treat all of our clients with the most respect.
