filed on January 30,2or7, and received by TCU on Februa ry 21, This matterwas resolvedbetween Tcu and the complainant ("Member') on February 77,2oL7; however, an overview of theissue and the resolution process is provided below.Member initiated a stop payment on a *** check to a contractor on December ro,2oLThe stoppayment request was not completely processed, and the standard fee was not deducted from Member,saccountsince the stop payment request was not in Tcu's system, on December 12, 2016, thecontractor who completed work for Member was able to cash the *** check that was issued to himon December 2016.on January 3,2017, Member informed Tcu about the check being cashed after the stop paymenrrequest This matter was escalated to TCU'S Legal Department where an internal investigation of theincident was conductedTCU concluded that Member did fill out the proper documents; however, ltwas not recorded in TCU'S system and did not trigger the stop payment fee.on February L, 2oY, rcu called Member to notify her that the investigation was complete, and aRelease Form would be sent to her new address to review and signMember agreed to sign and returnthe formTCU received the signed form on February 17, zoron that same day, TCU deposited the*** back into Member's checking account and waived the stop payment fee for the inconvenience.Member has not communicated any further complaints, and TCU considers this matter resolvedlfthere are any other questions or concerns, please, feelfree to contact rcu's Legal Department atThank you.Sincerely,Lega lDepartmentTeachers Credit Union
