To whom it may concern,
We were instructed to go into the attic to check out the job by the contractor who had some concerns of routing in the attic for the job we needed to doThere were employees there and they laid down plastic to help catch insulationAnytime you go into an attic there
is always some insulation that falls down and there is the possibility of some getting tracked in the houseMy employees told me that they spent considerable time picking up after themselves and tried try to keep it as clean as possibleAnytime that you have construction work done on a house there is always going to be some dust and some cleaningThe homeowner paid the bill in full and per contractI'm sorry that they felt we left the house messy, but I'm not hearing that story from my guys

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
The information contained in the business' response is simply not truePlacing blame on the customer for their mess is absurdFrom the cleaning bill submitted, one can see how many hours of extensive cleaning was needed to clean up the mess they created (hours)There was no discussion about them going into the attic, nor was there any informed consent about the possibility of tracking insulation throughout the homeMrZander's message is condescending - after building a house and working with dozens of subcontractors, we understand that construction work generates some degree of messBut his crew treated our house like a construction site and not a home where people (including young children) liveThe mess was excessive and we were not given any opportunity to prevent this from happening (for instance, we could have removed all of our daughter's belongings from the closet prior to them doing the job)

I don't know what to sayIt is my guys word against the homeownersThe most I would be willing to do is to pay for half of the bill which would be $to resolve this issueIf this was such an issue then why did I not get a phone call as soon as it happened to witness this horrible mess and be able to have a chance to do something about it

MrZander,We made it quite known about our displeasure with the way our house was treated on that dayIn fact, one of your staff members reached out to us by phone shortly afterwards, and stated that the worker who caused the mess and then stormed off would no longer be allowed at our houseWhy your staff didn't communicate this to you, I cannot say, but I would think this protocol should have been in place. Perhaps you should check with your staff members about this, as I can assure you that someone should remember this event given our reaction to itPlease know that we have much better things to do with our time than file complaints on companies without reasonYou are trying to negotiate the payment amount, but you are missing the pointIt is the principle of the matter, and good customer service for your customersYou have installed radon mitigation systems for us over the years (two different houses), and we would think that as a business owner, you would do everything possible to make it right with your customersYou have not done thatIn fact the tone of your letters is actually condescendingYou haven't called us to clear the air or make it right. So send us a check for the cleaning bill, in the amount that you feel is "right". As a reminder, the total bill was $120, and we would have spent $had your worker not disrespected our house.Regards,

RESPONSE TO ID#***
Frank A***, *** of Zander Solutions, did an on-site visit and met with *** *** *** two weeks ago. Frank and the home*** agreed that Zander Solutions will repair the chipped areas and provide an anti-slip finish. The work will be completed by the end of
August

We did repair the floor for [redacted] but we also made [redacted] and [redacted] aware of the fact that the problem was not in the coating that we installed.  The problem is with the movement of the substrate and they need a structural engineer to determine why it is failing. ...

This was brought to their attention last year when we did the work.  We applied the first coat last year and did make attempts to apply the last two coats, but because of [redacted]'s work load we could not get in to finish the work.  Zander Solutions' admits fault in not pursuing the completion of this project.

Zander did show up on April 17th and did a partial remediation.  They recoated the floor area that was failing. And recoatedthe coating on cove base that we had to remove due to sanitation issues. 1. Repair of failed surfaceWith respect to their statement that they had advised us of an issue with unstable substrate upon initial installation, the opposite is true. They did not advise us of unstable substrate. We brought this to their attention on several occasions prior to initial installation of surface coating. We were assured that this did not present a problem.  When they came to recoat this failed area the first time, we again pointed out the lack of solid base for the concrete.  Again, we were assured that this would not effect the integrity of their work or product.2.  Threshold partially repaired on previous occasionThreshold area at entry to boiler room needs to be topcoated.  This area had been repaired with 1st phasesome time ago, as it had delaminated previously.  However, top coat has not been completed.3. Delaminating Cove BaseCove Base around perimeter of food processing area is delaminating from wall allowing water to build up between cove base and wall creating a sanitation issue.  This needs to be corrected and rectified in a mannerthat will prevent future delamination.
