Elite Doggie Daycare & Boarding

Very poor care for dogs during boarding:Dogs were there one week. When I picked them up, they were lethargic (not just tired), dehydrated, and had diarrhea. One dog had dried feces on leg and side. Attendant had not noticed. One dog had open sore on foot pad. Could not put weight on foot. Attendant had not noticed. Dogs had been there a week, and the dog's other foot, obviously deformed from prior accident, had never been noticed. Attendant noticed it for first time while I was there. These all show lack of attention, care, and concern.Took dogs to vet immediately. Both had lost between 1 1/2 lb and 2 lb. (dogs weighed before & after boarding) One dog feverish, had something in ear (hair worn away from scratching--had been there for a while. Attendant had not noticed. Needed antibiotics and ear meds. Not fed as instructed. Too much of food I brought left over. I don't think one dog's meds were given as instructed. Dogs' beds, leashes, etc, were scattered, and I had to ask for each item separately. Unused wet food cans not returned; food bowls not returned.Attendant very vague when questioned about training, quality & quantity of time attending. Avoided answering questions. Attendant told me he had no idea when owner would check in--owner was rarely there. Owner has not contacted me after two requests and a phone message on my part. Shows lack of concern. Some one should have notified me at time of ear problems and of damage to foot. Feces should have been cleaned off. Reception area dirty and bad-smelling--more so than normal 'dog smell' Concerned about what customers do not see. My dogs were badly treated and no one there seems to know anything about it. I believe this place is unsanitary, negligent, and unhealthy for dogs, perhaps even dangerous.Product_Or_Service: Dog boardingDesired SettlementThe business should give me a substantial refund, since they do not practice what they advertise. They should also pay for the vet bills. I would not ask for this had I been notified when dog was hurt. Accidents happen. It was that they did not even notice the problems.Most importantly, I think that the proper authorities should investigate this business as I believe that dogs are in an unsafe place here. Final Consumer Response The business has sent me a check for the refund requested and the manager has called with a solid explanation and a sincere apology. I appreciate your help in the issue and their willingness to make amends.

This complaint does not involve a health issue but it involves the death of our family dog!!! This place of business, Elite Doggie daycare & "boarding", located in Reno Nevada is an abomination! This businesses lack of attention to detail & negligence resulted in the death of our dog. This is a unfit business should be reprimanded! While on a trip to [redacted] we get a call that our lil miniature pincher ran out the front door & was struck by a car. The sheer fact that their knowledge of our dogs behavior was neglected has caused are family tremendous grief! Like I mentioned we received a call from them to tell us our dog was struck and that was it!! It was up to us to call vet for her to tell us little [redacted] passed away! I demanded a call back from the owner on 6/10/2014 and still yet to receive a call. The manager smelled like marijuana as well, this business should be condemned! They are trying to "brush this under the carpet" and I am depending on Revdex.com to initiate some sort of repercussion(s). The infrastructure, internal protocol & policies DO NOT exist! I DO NOT want this to happen to another family as mine is and will remain in grief for some time. The so called manager had the nerve to get "lippy" with me, and blame a patron. Overall, our dog should have never been in their front office to even have the chance to escape. PURE NEGLIGENCE! I do not want to keep reiterating this tragic event, but there has been zero accountability & this WILL happen to another family is action is NOT taken.
