messaged me the day before the incident in question wonder what she should practiceI was dumbfounded on the following day of March @ 11:am when I picked up this student for her lessonI immediately realized their was some sort of emotional issue being experienced by the student and asked what was wrongThe student was not her self and to describe her would be MrsHyde as her previous character was of MrsJekyllShe started to state she did not want to drive as the weather was bad(In fact we had driven in worst weather) and that I made her nervous and she wanted a full refund of her lessonsWe continued to drive as I was trying to figure out what was going on with her for she was totally out of characterI asked several times what was wrong today because up to now everything seemed fineshe kept repeating she wanted her money back and when I told her I could not do that in the Sixth lesson she changed it to she wanted her money back then for this the sixth lessonWhile we were chatting she stopped in the middle of the road on a rolling right turn and allowed a P/u to make a Left turn,I told her this was wrong and she had to focus more on the lesson and drivingShe became very emotional started crying, we were in traffic so I got her to turn onto the street then onto a quite side street so she could pull overwe did that with her using the gas while I steered and got us off the road safelyOnce parked I began asking questions as to what was wrong and she just sobbed saying I was the fault for everything and she wanted all her money backI explained to her I do not give refunds after teaching someone to drive, the weather and conditions of today were good and we had driven in worst conditionsI suggested to her to calm downI then asked her to get out of the car so we coud change position so I could drive as her emotional state was not one in which to driveI drove back to the Pomeroy Sports Centre and dropped her offI first talked with the BF who did not seem surprsed at all that we were back and showed no emotion or concern for the distraught studentI explained to him I did not understand what was wrong and it would be better to let her calm down and we could reschedule the lesson for the next dayI went around to the passenger side of the car opened the door for my student and helped her to her vehicle and told her to call me later when she was feeling betterI was totally perplexed with the situation and it threw me off course as to what was wrongThis student was not the student I had been teaching just a few days beforeHer attitude, body language, personal demeanor and actions were not as previously demonstrated in previous lessonsI left the parking lot went for coffee and calm up own nerves as I had never ever been in a sitution like that before and it sort of threw me off kilterI had other lessons for the day and this experience I had to let goI finished my coffee gathered myself and proceeded to another lessonAfter the lesson I messaged her but no response from them so I proceeded to text wondering what was going onI explained there could be no refund for the lessons and that there was now no refund for the road test package as they were now cancelling after the hour cancellation periodShe was given my refund policy on the day of the first 1/paymentThe BF messaged me 1:pm wanting to cancel the road test and I replied that it was past the cancellation period and it did not make sense to cancel now as there would be no refundThis is were the story goes southThe student now takes this to the social media sites, slandering me and my company, exaggerating the story and making a complete mess out of the situationI have a copy of the refund policy that was given to her that I would like to send to you for your reviewI feel as if I went the extra mile for this student and when communications broke down I sent a registered letter to her to make amends and try and satisfy the situation but she refused to pick up the mail and it was returned to meAll this student did to try and remedy the situation was to slander, defame, criticize, write derogatory comments and drag others into the situation that know nothing of what went onThis student made a late claim of cancellation and from what I can gather fits the description of an Opportunistic Customer who seems to want to get something for nothing [redacted] *** I have happy students, excellent testimonials and reviews up to this point in time [redacted] ***Please contact me for copy of my refund policy and the letter I sent to the student to try and remedy the The student seemed very happy with her lessons and driving progress and when I inquired why she paid the second 1/2 of her lessons when she did she said she had the money and wanted to get it paid up and over with. (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The is just not how the situation played out, he is changing all the details to make himself seem blameless. He was swearing and yelling, even on day one. he never grabbed the wheel and steered us to safety. In his response he's added things that never happened. as opening my door for me. I was trying to grab my inhaler because I got so worked up after he was yelling and swearing that I stopped breathing. and he was in the way of my door. I pretty much has to push him out of the way so I could grab it. I never once said I want my money back . besides in the Text message. TEXT not in person. ! at the start of this I never even wanted a refund. Just an apology. the way he acted. making it seem like theres something wrong with me. thats when I took what happened to me online. I didn't want a little kid be in the situation I was in. SCARED FOR MY LIFE. as I didn't know what he would do. I didn't mind the swearing on the 1st couple of lessons I thought it would be worth it. because I would be able to drive. but clearly it was not worth what happened on the last lesson.
I didn't ask for a refund until after I was out of the instructor's vehicle and away from him as he was making me so uncomfortable. While in the vehicle he was saying that I would have to pay more to reschedule the lesson because it was my fault.
He told me there was no way he was giving me my money back. The cancellation policy I was given, which is not the one he is currently giving out to customers, stated I had to give notice of cancellation within 24 hrs, which I did. It also states there is never a charge for lessons cancelled in a timely manner.
After it became clear that the instructor was not going to honor his stated cancellation policies and was going to keep my money, the only course of action I had left was to post my experience online and make this Revdex.com complaint.
Since posting my bad experience online, the instructor has made every effort to silence/discredit me and get the review taken down. This includes threatening [redacted] page admins with lawsuits for allowing the post to be shared and even going to the RCMP to try to get action taken against me. He has posted on his webpage about opportunistic customers and is claiming I am trying to scam him somehow.
He doesn't want to do whats right, he wants no record of the bad experiences customers have had. There were many chances to resolve this privately but the instructor chose to act in a toxic and unprofessional manner, even going out of his way to inconvenience us.
There was a registered letter in our PO box from this man, but I did refuse to sign for it. He was adamant that he would be keeping my money and not honoring his refund policy, which can be backed up by our text message conversation.
If he has changed his position on this matter, I would ask that he replies on this website confirming that he has now decided to live up to his refund policy, at which point he can resend the letter and I will sign for it.
