On Aug 16th 2017 Elite Moving sent two trucks and did some packing and loaded all our furniture and goods from *** Rd. Wellesley and moved them to *** Ave. London On. The four employees and the trucks and equipment were satisfactory and we praised their work ald all they did. We wrote them a payment cheque at the end of a very long day. Within a day or two, I called *** (the owner and only contact that I had) to ask him about one box/bag? that appeared to be missing. He said he would do some checking and get back to me.
He informed me that his men had checked everywhere and couldn't find anything. He suggested that we give it some time to see if it would show up after all the unpacking etc. Fair enough. A number of phone calls ensued where I explained that there was a gross packing error made by one of his employees. I photographed the problem and emailed it to him. and we were now sure that certain items were missing as well.
There were several more calls to keep in touch and follow his instructions. He said that he would settle the claim easily and promptly in the near future. I emailed a full list of the claim and he asked me if I could wait until he came back from a trip to Africa. Fine. We were away on trip of our own from Sept. 8th to 24th.
Things became worrisome when we tried to talk to him after we returned. My calls were never returned. We gave it a lot of time, in case he was detained on his trip, but... it grew to the place that we even made a trip to his business address ay *** Cres. to find his car in the driveway but no response to the doorbell or knocking for a few minutes.
We have made many, many phone calls ever since and are confused about why the line keeps being answered, only to get a voice recording each time. We left every kind of inquiring appeal for him to contact us but have to date never received any reply. In two weeks we will leave for Florida for three months. We need help with this because your local office has confirmed that he is indeed still in business and I don't want this matter to drag out for too long.

I would like to apologize for not getting back to in a timely manner. There were some personal issues over the past few months that have kept me from attending to all matters of my business. I wasnt aware that you came to my house looking for me. My car car being in the drive is not an indication of me being at home. We have more than one vehicle. In any case, I have spoken to my drivers and helpers regarding the missing items and am convinced that there was nothing left on our trucks upon completion of the move. And we have no way of knowing the true value of said missing items. Due to the fact that we delayed in responding to you, I would like to make an offer of $300 to cover some of the items as a show of good faith.

We are inclined to accept this response for several reasons.Up until the unfortunate (apparent)disappearance of the company owner both him and his employees conduct was exemplary. His explanation of his further actions of ignoring us is partially understandable but regrettable. We will accept our part of the loss due to the difficulties of pushing further. We have already spent more than what we will receive to purchase a number of replacements. Please forward the settlement amount via E-transfer. ASAP Thank You

They broke my patio 6 person glass table while moving it, bent the legs from putting to many heavy things on top. Took them about a month to take it to repair it or replace it. I moved end of July 2017, after they finally took it in mid Sept. I'm still waiting to get my table back. Ive texted and called numerous times and no one is getting back to me.

Desired Outcome

Repair My table back either fixed properly or replaced with same type of table.
