The father has been verbally abusive, disrespectful and in some occasions threatening to our staff, both on the phone and in the office throughout his son's treatment. We have been very patient, tolerant and put up with all of his behavior because we wanted to make sure that his son received the...
best possible treatment. We have always provided his son with exceptional care and have always accommodated his schedule. We never charged for cancelled and rescheduled appointments, all of which did not give us the 24hr notice required. We also waived the fee for many of his son's broken brackets when it needed replacement, which was quite often, almost every appointment. When his son's treatment time become longer due to broken brackets, missed and rescheduled appointments, we did not charge anything extra, although the contract clearly states that we have the right to do so. I strongly recommend that he reads his contract again.My staff should not tolerate verbal abuse from anyone over the phone and they have the right to terminate any conversation that escalates to profanity and disrespect.The patient's treatment is complete (braces are removed and patient is in retainers) and results have exceeded our expectations. Post treatment records and images verify that.As for charges, there is no over-billing or any overpayment as was claimed. Total payments made are equal to our contracted fee. Charges to replace broken brackets, and any diagnostic images taken after treatment is complete are not part of the contracted treatment fee and are charged separately. Our contract covers diagnostic records, placing braces on, office visits while in treatment, and retainers after treatment is complete.We have informed the parent that we will be happy to transfer his son's records to any other dentist and wish him and his son the best.
