Elite Roofing and Gutters

Review: I had an entire new roof and gutters installed by Elite about a year ago. I tried to contact Elite less than a month following the installation because I saw several problems with the gutters and downspouts. The roof or the gutters were improperly installed and I have water leaking through the seam between the facia and the gutters causing meltwater to collect on my sidewalk which then freezes. All winter there is a constant covering of ice which has now caused me to fall, more than once, and is allowing water to pool around the foundation of my home in several areas

In short, I now have a gutter system that functions less effectively than the one that I replaced. In addition, they failed to install several of the items that they included, for extra cost, on their contract, the largest being a leaf guard cover for the gutters.

I retain a copy of the contact showing that the work was paid in full, signed by the owner Darrel [redacted].

This has also caused me to now question the entire roof installation, as they will not honor the supposed 20 year workmanship warranty that is listed on my contract in addition to any need for the manufacturer's 40 years product warranty as needed..

I have called Elite, I have emailed them, sent them letters, and even sent a registered letter to them which they refused. I am turning to you as my final recourse before contacting legal representation. I am disabled by a degenerative auto immune disease in my joints, and I need a stable, non slippery surface for my walker and wheelchair. In addition, my wife's elderly mother often stays with us and this has caused a dangerous situation for her as well.

Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.Desired Settlement: I would, at this point, be very surprised to receive any contact from Elite. If I did, I would allow them to try to correct the problems that they created as well as install the items that they deprived my of, and, for which I paid.

I will allow one week for someone from Elite to contact me, if not, I will instruct my attorney to begin legal proceedings against Elite.

Review: On April 2nd 2014, I entered into a contract with Elite roofing and Gutters. The signed contracts states that Elite would perform multiple roofing events as well as the submission of a certainteed claim that my shingles qualified for. The claim involved: the removal of a shingle sample, photos of the area in which the shingle was removed, filing of the proper paperwork along with various forms. Once the work was performed ( the weekend of April 4-6th) I waited a few months before I called elite about the status of my claim. After about a week of calling and leaving messages I finally received a call back indicating that they had never submitted the online request for the claim. [redacted], even told me that I should have received something a while ago, which was not the case considering they never filed anything in the first place. I finally received paperwork in the mail from certainteed around the 3rd week of July. I filled out the necessary paperwork, enclosed the required paperwork and a $50.00 dollar check and send it to, [redacted] as instructed. I spoke with [redacted] on the 1st of August, to confirm they had received the paperwork and the check and he told me they have everything they need, and I would just have to wait for my check because they (certainteed) probably have a back-log of claims. I told him that was understandable, and I was just glad that everything was sent out.

On Monday January 5th 2015, I called the number Certainteed provided to check the status of my claim, they told me they were still waiting for the materials to be submitted. I told them the materials were sent out in August along with the paperwork, he told me they never received anything.

I've called all numbers associated with Elite roofing everyday and still have not received a call back, 2 of their 3 phone numbers have full VM boxes and I leave messages on the third.Desired Settlement: I am in contract with Elite roofing for them to complete the filing of the claim with CertainTeed, I would request at this point that Elite provide: contact with me in regards to the status of this claim, provide me with proof that they have sent all required materials to certainteed, or, Supply me with photos, samples and all necessary items needed to file the claim myself.
