Dear [redacted]:
I am writing in response to the above mentioned complaint.  first I would like to say that I hung up on [redacted] because I am extremely sensitive to loud unexpected noise, which in this case was her voice.
I did not ruin anything, and there was no complaint when she picked up the merchandise.  When she did bring them back, in addition to her complaint of the height of the design, she told me that they were crooked, and exhibited the position of the design on the shirt she was wearing.  She was wearing the shirt with seams pulled to the left which skewed the design.  When the shirt was straightened to the proper position, the design was directly in the center.  The design was printed within 3 inches of the neckline, which we always do unless the customer specifies differently.  there was no instructions given, written or verbal.  I have no opinion on the artwork, but I know that the height of the art was going to be lower on the shirt since the shirt had a plunging v neckline.  The shirt is a distressed garment, purposely meant to look as though it has been worn hard.  I have heard much harsher comments about that style of shirt than the way that I described it.
the fact is, there is really no right or wrong place to print on a garment as evidenced by prints literally done in every position imaginable.  Just take a walk into any shopping mall or avante garde t shirt shop.  In 40 years of printing I have done a print in all of those positions.  Now I am being told how horrible we are, and how our name will be slandered on various media sources.  Sad!  Elite Sportswear Products, for one, chooses to take the high road, and be judged by a jury of our peers.  For that reason exactly, I suggested we take this matter to court where more practical cooler heads will prevail.
However, because I have a source to move the merchandise, I am willing to pay  the amount of $267.66 less an industry standard of 2% for "damaged" goods as long as the shirts are returned to me undamaged as I gave them to the customer.  I await the response of Ms Buster and her company [redacted]!
Thank you
