Tell us wHistory:We’ve been established since and this customer has been to our location several times since to do business.Check in:The customer, per signed service agreement, wanted us to do the routine tuto his mower and check the deck for some metal pieces that were
hanging.Service:We performed the routine tuper signed agreement. This includes blade sharpening, oil change, filters, adjust belts, lube cables, and grease pivot points.During the tuwe did check the deck hangers, deck supports, deck wheels, and spindles. All appeared to be in good working order.Pickup:When the customer came to pick up mower and pay for the tune-up, he pointed out to us that we hadn’t resolved his deck problem. Under the deck, and inside the deck shell are the deck baffles surrounded in grass, which the welds broke loose and the baffles were out of placeWe explained to the customer that we did not see this initially when performing the tune-up, but it could be fixed. We also explained that removing the deck, fabricating metal, and welding were not part of the routine tune-up. To reiterate, welding and fabricating metal is not part of a tune-up. The customer made clear that he wanted the deck fixed, so we did so. He paid for the deck repair, picked up the mower and then we received this letter.Conclusion:We performed all of the duties that the customer requested in a timely matter. We pointed out to the customer that some shops would not even bother to weld the deck to save customer money but would simply sell an entire new deck shell with baffles. The deck shell, part #retails for $plus $labor to transfer all the spindles, belts, idlers, brackets over to the new deck shell.So we feel not only is a refund out of the question, but the customer should drop this dispute and thank us for saving him hundreds of additional dollars in repairs.We did everything as asked and tried to help him understand to keep him as a loyal customer.hy here

I am rejecting this response because:  My mower was dropped off by a party other than myself however, I called and talked an older woman.  I told her my name and started telling her about my mower and she told me that she would need my telephone number because that's how they looked up the customer information. I gave her my number she looked up my information we went from there.  I asked her if they had a chance to look over my mower she told me no.  I told her that I wanted to get an estimate of what the cost would be before any work was performed.  She stated that they did give estimates. She then went on to tell me that she didn't know when it would be looked at because, no one was around to ask at the time.  I told her I need to know before it worked on because I might not get it repaired if it cost to much.  I've owned at least  six autos and know to get an estimated on any work that's to be performed on my auto.  So I know better than to allow work to be done on my mower before getting a call on the estimated charges involved.  If she would have told me that the estimate was going to cost $35.00 I would've told her I will picking up my mower don't do the work or and estimate. I never got a call on an estimate at all.  Even I had allowed an estimate I would have been able to check around for comparisons on that type of work. They went ahead and preformed unauthorized work on my mower and now are trying to stick me with a high bill  basically trying to rip me off.  I want my lawn mower back they can take their parts back make sure they put my parts back and I'm not paying for an estimate because I was never given one.  I know they will probably mess my mower up and claim that's how it was brought to them however it's a Toro not more that 3yrs old bought new from Home Depot.
