Elk Construction Reviews (%countItem)

We hired Elk Construction to replace our roof, gutters, and damaged vinyl siding with James H color plus siding. We could not be more pleased with their professionalism, timeliness, and skillset.
This was a big project that not only required careful attention to detail but also a high level of understanding on proper James H installation. From our first consultation with Juan, we could tell that he and his crew were the right people for the job. When Elk’s crews were on site, they were professional, kind to our family, hard working, and respectful of our property. Every member of their team gladly answered questions and made adjustments when asked.
Elk Construction’s number one goal was to make sure that the job was completed well. They wanted us to be happy, and we feel like they went out of their way to make sure we were. We highly recommend Elk Construction!

It was a pleasure working with you! Thanks for the review Scott

company caused water damage to my unit when replacing gutters and has not responded to my requests via email and *** (employee) to reimburse me for the replacement of one of my egress windows and frame due to water damage caused by lack of gutters during heavy rain period.

Tower Ridge II - tried to have Management Company help resolve and they are denying knowledge of problems (emails to prove they were notified)...personally spoke to ***, Supervisor during our project, who agrees Elk caused the problem....he has been unable to get anyone at our management company and/or his company (Elk) to resolve this issue

Dear ***

Elk Construction was never notified of any damages caused to your window unit during the gutter installation. We were never given the opportunity to inspect the damages in order to take the appropriate action. If we found that the damages were caused by our crew or workmanship we could have immediately made the corrections necessary.

Since the window was replaced with out our knowledge and proper inspection by our company we can not be held responsible for the repairs. We are also aware that the rain fall during the gutter project was one of the highest levels in recent years and several units experienced water penetration into the window wells, even with new gutters installed.

According to tp ***, our project coordinator for the community, he was notified of the issue from the management company one month after the new window was installed. Therefor we were never given the opportunity to properly as the issue.

Thank you,

J***

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

I notified Brooke, from Management Trust as soon as the problem was noticed. Unfortunately, I did not notice it immediately because I was dealing with my first newborn granddaughter and my own medical issues not allowing me to go to the basement. I know *** spoke to Brooke and, of course, she could not remember anything. I called Brooke on several occasions and sent e-mails on other occasions. (*** has copies of e-mails.) I understand you feel you don't have to pay because Management Trust never notified you of the problem but to punish me for following our HOA rules seems unfair to me. In the name of customer service, if nothing else, I would think you would want to repay me for a problem you know your employees caused in my unit. (*** has pictures of the window) I got tired of waiting for a response from anyone and was concerned I would run into the problem again when the rain would start. I know *** spoke to Juan at various times and that Juan expected me to call Brooke, once again because he was unable to get her to admit to their part in the problem....If I could do nothing and Juan could do nothing, to just "let it go" is really extremely unprofessional, in my opinion. I can't believe you are concerned about a mere $1200, which means nothing to you but is most of my monthly income (on a fixed budget.) Thanks for nothing............*** Obie

Our HOA reached out to Elk Construction for 2 complete bathroom remodels; from floor to ceiling. After no bid coming in, I reached out after one month to see if they were still interested in performing the job and sending a bid for the job. Spoke to Dave this morning and he was more concerned with what our budget was than giving a bid to perform the required work we were asking for. I would not use this company for any HOA work and would not recommend them to anyone.

Our HOA contracted Juan and Elk Construction for concrete repairs. After re-doing my front stairs I complained to the HOA that the job was completed in a very poor manner- most of all the steps were non-uniform in slope and height. A potential code violation was reported to Juan- via e-mail he reported there were no issues. The HOA then contracted for a third-party engineer to examine the steps. The report came back, claiming numerous building code violations.

Juan received the report and agreed to re-do the stairs. Per pictures that we have, there is significant issues with the pour. You can see water marks in the concrete that have now dried and cannot be removed with staining or acid washing. The required railing were also not installed correctly and had to be repaired at HOA expense. In addition, there was concrete debris left all over the area of construction that was not cleaned, despite repeated attempts sent to Juan to clean.

Cleaning was done at the cost of the HOA- however, there seems be permanent concrete damage done to a public utilities cover on the front lawn.

I would not recommend Elk Construction for any concrete or any other type of construction that you may have. Reviewing options and may still file a Revdex.com complaint.
