This has been reviewed by the insurance company. No fault was determined to be that of Elk Grove Power Sports. The vehicle was in for accident repair. The repair was performed on the factory components only. The aftermarket bags and stereo were left up to the customer to
repair. Stereo systems run to direct power or wire routing not using the manufactures wiring loom are not suggested or recommended by the manufacture or Elk Grove Power Sports. We are sorry the insurance company did not review in favor of the consumer. The consumer will need to reach out to his insurance company to resolve

Review: The new Sea Doo RXT 260 we bought from this store was faulty, always clogging when in the water.The first time it touched water it clogged constantly, 3rd time it touched water, it almost completely submerged. Filling the engine chamber. When taking it in for repairs at this store, I was quoted $1654 just to find the issue before possible completed repairs. Nothing was covered under warranty OR the EXTENDED WARRANTIES we purchased this NEW watercraft. No deductibles were offered, just pay this amount of $1654 but they said, "we feel sorry for you so Elk Grove Power Sports will pay $300 toward the repair as well as the warranty company for a total of $600."I refused the amount they were offering, because it was not fair, had a sit down meeting with the GM of the store and we discussed returning it as well through emails.A week later talking to the finance company about the return, they said the GM has it as a repo!Im beyond mad at the shady nature of their business tactics.I will see this through until the end, this is not fair or right. Even if I have to picket the store!Desired Settlement: Full replacement or full refund! But replacement can not be the same model, this model seems to have its faults.I'll gladly pay for the rental of this watercraft for the 2 weekends we did get to use it.

[redacted] purchased a 2013 Sea Doo Watercraft model RXT X on June 4th 2014. On July 7th 2014, Mr. [redacted] brought the unit in for repair. On July 10th 2014 the manufacture denied the warranty claim. The warranty claim was denied by the manufacture(BRP) due to outside debris had penetrated the propulsion system and the cooling system. The vehicle overheated on 3 separate occasions. Extensive damage was done to the propulsion system and exhaust system due to lack of water. The repair bill totaled $1648.13

Mr. [redacted] contacted the manufacture's(BRP) customer Service Center about the denied warranty claim. On 7/30/2014 the Customer Service Center reached out to me and confirmed the denial of the warranty and did offer Mr. [redacted] $300.00 in "Goodwill" assistance towards the repair for purchasing 2 watercraft. Elk Grove Power Sports matched the manufacture "Goodwill" contribution for a total of $600.00

On 7/31/2014 Mr. [redacted] and I had a meeting. I explained that the repairs were not covered under warranty. Mr. [redacted] refuse the "Goodwill" and refused to take the vehicle. I explained to Mr. [redacted] that storage fees would incur. Mr. [redacted] said that the vehicle was not his, rather it is Sheffield financials and left the building. At no point was a return of the vehicle explained as an option.

On 8/14/2014 Mr. [redacted] reached out to me via email with the following message: Sheffield is waiting on the return, they have had no response from you.Please don’t delay the inevitable.

On 8/15/2014 I contacted Sheffield Financial. Sheffield financial was not aware of a return agreement. They were to contact the customer.

On 8/15/2014 at 1:03pm I was contacted by Mary Beth with Sheffield Financial. She asked that we perform the repairs to the unit and when we are done a repossession company will pick up.

There is a few things that the customer does not understand about the situation.

1) The manufacture approves and denies warranty. Elk Grove Power Sports does not. The denial of this claim is clearly outlined in the use and maintenance manual.

2) The finance company is the only one that can call for a repossession. A repossession only happens when a consumer does not follow the guidelines outlined in the contract signed at time of sale.

3) Elk Grove Power Sports does not receive any privileged information such as payment history, nor can we speak on behalf of the customer to the finance company. The agreement is between the customer and the finance company.

4) Vehicles can not just be returned after a few weekends of use.

I have advised Mr. [redacted] to seek an attorney for advise. I again am suggesting that Mr. [redacted] seeks the advise of an attorney. Clarity and explanation on the situation may be better received from an attorney.
