Review: I believe an unnecessary part was installed in my truck and I am seeking a refund. I have full documentation and the letter I sent to [redacted]...but this site will not let me post it..there are no social security numbers on it...may just too long.I had a new rack and pinion unit put in March 28th 2015. In May a noticeable left hand turn issue arose and they warranted the rack and put in a new power steering pump on suspicion. In October, the same left hand turn issue cropped up. The store warranted the power steering pump and it DID NOT resolve the issue. I was unhappy with what I was told by the shop and took the truck to another shop and paid for a diagnostic. They found that the rack and pinion and steering shaft were either defective or incorrectly installed. I took the truck back to Big O. I asked them to compensate me for the diagnostic and they refused. They did , however, put in a another (#3) rack and pinion unit and the left hand turn issue was resolved. This I think proves that the initial replacement of the power steering pump was unnecessary. When they put the second one in, the turning problem did not go away and they noted as much on the work order...when they put in the third rack and pinion, the problem went away.I think I should be reimbursed for the diagnostic since it identified a problem that was either overlooked or ignored by Big O. I also think I should be reimbursed for the power steering pump that apparently I never needed.Desired Settlement: I seek a refund for the diagnostic performed at the other shop that identified Big O's shortcomings: $80 and I am asking for a refund on the unneeeded power steering pump: $416.20. I have all the work orders and receipts available.I wrote to [redacted] and the issue was pawned off on the local store since they are a franchise:Mr. [redacted], I have forwarded your issue to the store owner to review and address. I have asked that he make contact with you to review the issue and try to get a resolution. We do have warranty to cover repairs that were performed on your vehicle, but any refund will need to be addressed at the store level due to the location being a franchise operation. Review: Tire balance and alignment not done as decribed and what I was charged for.

I had taken my car to Big O Tires in April/May 2013 to install TPMS sensors and a tire mount and balance. I had to redo the TPMS sensors due to the manufacture sending me the wrong ones. On July 2,2013 I took my car back to Big O tires to redo the sensors. before me taking my vehicle back I called and spoke to the owners son regarding an alignment for my 2009 Mercedes and I specifically ask him if they were equipped to do all the adjustments if needed and he assured me they could, I told him my car was pulling to the right. and again he assured me they would make any adjustments to stop the pulling. When they changed the TMPS sensors they only marked the tire did not do a full mount and balance but still charged me the full cost of tire mount and balance $100.00 and my car still pulls to the right after the alignment which I was charged another $100.00 for that. I immediately called the bushiness back and spoke to the owner son and told him my car was still puling and now he changed his story and said its an additional cost to make adjustments. and I also told him my car had a little shake to the car and ask him if he they did a full mount and balance and he said no they only marked the tire, then I ask him why I was charged the full amount and he really didn't have an answer. I told him that I believed that I was charged for services that were not done, and requested a refund so that I could take my vehicle to another shop who could do the required repairs accurate. at that point he started to make excuses and I hung up. Desired Settlement: A full refund so I can take my car to another shop who is qualified to do the necessary repairs.

According to invoice number XXXXX..There is no charge for balancing customer wheels. Just install labor for TPMS stems. There will be no refund for this charge, since he was not charged for it on the invoice! According to alignment printout...alignment was adjusted into manufacturer specs. There can be other reasons for a "pull" i.e. conicity from tires.

It is also true that sometimes there has to be camber/caster kits installed to correct some alignment angles...this would happen if the manufacturer did not install any o.e. adjustments.

So this complaint is not valid because he was not charged for balance!
